OBJECTIVE: Under general supervision, a summer program teacher is responsible for leading classroom activities for children for children enrolled in Orangeburg County School District’s summer programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ? Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of summer program for an early childhood or elementary age classroom, to meet the learners physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs, based on their individual development. This will be done based on the SDE curriculum standards and teaching strategies of OCSD. ? Demonstrate professionalism by timely submission of lesson plans and effective communication. ? Provide a variety of learning experiences that promote physical, emotional, cognitive and social development for the learners so that they experience success while in the summer program. ? Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of drills and procedures. ? Contribute to OCSD summer program culture and operations by participating in staff meetings, sharing information obtained through professional development, and performing other duties as required.
