Instrumental Music Teacher
The Instrumental Music Teacher inspires, enthuses, excites, guides, enlivens, and motivates students through the study, practice and performance of music in a social setting.
Reports to: Coordinator of Related Arts
Main Tasks:
· Teach instrument(s) to either individuals or small groups grades 5 – 12.
· Create an environment of active and genuine learning by employing a range of teaching strategies that meet the needs of all students.
· Monitor each student’s progress and keep the student and parents informed of progress through various communication methods.
· Keep accurate records of achievement and attendance in order to provide meaningful reports and parent communications as required.
· Maintain your instrumental area by; regularly checking equipment and your teaching area for possible damage, updating asset records, obtaining quotes for repair and keeping in regular communication with the Coordinator of Related arts.
· Participate in the Consortium co-curricular ensemble program.
· Prepare your instrumental students either as soloists or ensemble members for the various performances that occur throughout the duration of the Consortium.
· Assist in rehearsals and sectionals, or take the responsibility and direction of your own ensemble(s).
· Maintain your own skill and knowledge in Music, teaching and your instrument(s)
· Actively pursue the development and improvement of your instrumental area by accessing and implementing up to date teaching methods and curriculum tools.
· Utilize information and learning technologies as appropriate to your instrument(s)
· Participate in subject or area association meetings as appropriate and maintain relationships with professional associations (SCMEA)
· Participate in the development and evaluation of curriculum, programs and resources for the implementation of the curriculum.
· Previous skills and abilities in conducting/directing are desirable.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field is preferred.
· Proven experience working as a Music Director.
· Sound musical knowledge.
· The ability to interpret various styles of music.
· Strong leadership and listening skills.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Choral Music Teacher
The Choral Director should be an enthusiastic and dedicated educator ready to provide musical guidance and direction to choir members. The Choir Director's responsibilities include greeting audiences before performances, teaching voice control techniques to choir members, and promptly resolving conflicts among choir members. The Choral Director should also be able to work with various accompanists to enhance musical pieces as needed.
The Choral Director, you should be creative, assertive, and passionate about music. Ultimately, an outstanding Choral Director should be able to interpret various styles of music and
demonstrate exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills at all times.
Reports to: Coordinator of Related Arts
Main Tasks:
· Teach choral repertoire and techniques to individuals, small and large groups grades
5 – 12.
· Instructing choir members to warm up before rehearsals and performances.
· Deciding on appropriate musical pieces for the choir to perform based on the venue and occasion.
· Establishing and enforcing a performance dress code in accordance with established guidelines.
· Conducting auditions to identify and select suitable choir members for various performances.
· Scheduling choir rehearsals and ensuring that choir members attend rehearsals regularly.
· Selecting individual choir members to perform solos.
· Providing the necessary guidance and direction during choir rehearsals to assist choir members in achieving the correct tone, pitch, rhythm, tempo, and harmony.
· Directing choir members during musical performances to ensure that the desired sound is achieved.
· Creating suitable choir formations for rehearsals and performances.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field is preferred.
· Proven experience working as a Choir Director.

Piano Teacher
The Piano Teacher should be an enthusiastic and dedicated educator ready to provide musical guidance and direction to piano students. Responsibilities include teaching piano techniques and working with various accompanists to enhance musical pieces as needed.
The Piano Teacher should motivate students through the study, practice and performance of music on the piano in a social setting. Creativity, assertiveness, and passion about music should enable the piano teacher to interpret various styles of music and demonstrate exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills at all times.

Art Teacher
The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art.
Reports to: Coordinator of Related Arts
Main Task:
· Teach visual art to either individuals or small groups grades 5 – 12, with knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history.
· Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art.
· Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting.
· Understand the versatility of acrylic paints: dry brushing, staining, layering, underpainting, mono printing.
· Understand a variety of “masters” techniques.
· Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art.
· Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique.
· Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities.
· Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment.
· Organize storage areas and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection.
· Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports.
· Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintain required inventory records.
· Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the Consortium and the community.
· May sponsor exhibits from outside the Consortium.
· Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
· Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress.
· Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs.
· Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
Education:
· Two years’ work experience as an Art Teacher.
· Minimum Education Requirements / Certification
· Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts
· Master’s degree in Fine Arts preferred.
Dance Teacher
The Dance Teacher will be responsible for teaching and training a dynamic group of students in a range of techniques and dance styles, ensuring that all students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve their goals in their chosen area of dance.
The Dance Teacher should enjoy working with people of all ages. Proven experience as a dance instructor in the specific discipline/s of the dance studio is strongly desired.
Reports to: Coordinator of Related Arts
Main Task:
· Teach dance to either individuals or small groups grades 5 – 12.
· Ability to teach using various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level.
· Develop dance curriculums and prepare lesson plans.
· Ability to communicate with a diverse group of teachers and students.
· Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
· Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement.
· Choreograph routines and select music for recitals and concerts.
· Conduct group and private lessons as required.
· Provide a fun and creative environment.
· Keep up to date in your discipline and implement any changes to the dance routines and curriculum as needed.
Education:
· Bachelor's Degree in Dance or qualification from an accredited college.
· Previous teaching experience required.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Energetic, driven, creative, and dependable.
· Demonstrate patience and leadership skills.
Theater Teacher
The Theater Teacher should provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth and enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Reports to: Coordinator of Related Arts
Main Task:
· Teach theater to either individuals or small groups grades 5 – 12
· Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned.
· Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.
· Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment.
· Work cooperatively with other Arts educators.
· Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.
· Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing.
· Present a positive role model for students.
· Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
· Manage student behavior in the classroom.
· Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents.
· Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
· Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
· Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.
· Any other assignment deemed appropriate.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Valid South Carolina teaching certificate
• Theatre: Early Childhood – Grade 12 preferred
• Knowledge of subjects assigned
