RESPONSIBILITIES OF SUMMER STUDENT WORKER
 
Requirements:
MUST be 16 years of age or older, High School student, or less than two years of college.
 
The following job duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the summer school K-7 or Extended School Year student worker, in addition to any duties as may be assigned by the building lead or program director for the duration of the program:
• Assist the building leader with operational tasks such as delivering curriculum materials and organizing classroom materials
• Assist with arrival and dismissal, as directed by the building leader and curriculum leader.
• Support classroom activities, under specific direction and supervision of the teacher and assistant teacher.
• Communicate respectfully and clearly to building leaders, staff, students, and all adults at designated summer sites.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Assist with basic clerical tasks, such as directing telephone calls and organizing copies to be delivered to classrooms.
• Knowledge of technology to assist in the classroom.
Rate of pay: $16.35 per hour

NHPS Summer School K-3 Assistant Teacher
 
The following job duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the NHPS summer school K-3 Assistant Teacher/Paraprofessional position, in addition to any duties as may be assigned by the building lead or program director for the duration of the program:
• Assist teachers to implement the NHPS Summer Literacy, Math, and STEM curriculum, leading small groups or individual instruction and discussions, and reviewing classwork.
• Mandatory attendance and participation in Literacy, Math, and STEM training and all designated working days of the summer school program.
• Organize the classroom and teaching materials, monitoring the classroom during lessons, and minimizing distractions and disruptions.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom.
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and social- emotional needs.
• Help teachers and students with transitions, such as lunch in the cafeteria and any summer programming requiring students to leave the classroom.
• Assist the teacher with tracking student attendance, student information forms, arrival and dismissal procedures.
• Ensure the upkeep of educational materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist the teacher in documenting student progress.
• Experience with technology to assist teachers and students.
• Collaborative communication and interpersonal skills
*Requirements: Associate Degree or 60 college credits or receive a qualifying score on the ParaPro Assessment, or existing NHPS Assistant Teacher

ARTS Teacher-Summer School K-3
 
Position Overview: Join our dynamic Summer School Enrichment Program as a Fine Arts Teacher, where you'll inspire and nurture young minds in grades K-3. We are seeking passionate educators in the fields of Visual Arts, Dance, Theatre, and Music to create an engaging and enriching learning experience for our students.
