JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Wastewater Superintendent, this position coordinates and implements the City’s Environmental Permits and Programs, including Storm Water, Wastewater, Industrial Pretreatment, Air Resource and other Environmental Permitting as required. This position will coordinate the development and operation of the Collection System Capacity Management, Operation, and Maintenance Program (CMOM). This person is the City’s subject matter expert in matters of Environmental Permitting and is responsible for ensuring that the City satisfies State, Federal and local Environmental requirements. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 3:45 pm, is part of the UAW Professional Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 15, with an hourly rate not to exceed $37.56.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree from an accredited college or university in an environmental discipline, including training in hazardous material management
• Considerable experience in storm water management and collection system maintenance and the Federal Industrial Pretreatment Program
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work
• Knowledge of storm water principles, practices and techniques, field sampling and lab testing techniques, principles and practices of construction site design and activities
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints, site plans, and topographical maps in regard to construction site activities, stream bank erosion and flood plain controls, research legal descriptions, property boundaries and subdivision plans
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License required within one year of hire
• Grade II Collection System Operator License required within one year of hire
• Certificate in Hazardous Materials Training required within one year of hire
• Valid Driver’s License

Performs other related duties. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 2:45 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 4, with a starting hourly rate not to exceed $29.39.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience
• Must possess Grade 1 Collection Systems Certification or have the ability to obtain the Certification within one year of employment
• Must possess CDL-B License with Tank Endorsement
• Proficient in the use of personal computers and software necessary to complete the requirements of this position
• Must complete training for confined space entry, an eight hour Hazmat training, and first aid/CPR training
• High School diploma or certified equivalent; experience in lieu of education will be considered.

This position is responsible for all duties and assignments related to the daily operations of a 16 MGD wastewater treatment facility, including sample collection, equipment operation, grit removal, chemical preparation, process review, maintenance of buildings, machinery and grounds, odor control system operation, SCADA review and operation, sludge dewatering and conditioning, tank cleaning, assistance to maintenance personnel, chemical feed adjustments, secondary by-pass operation, anaerobic digester operation, calibration of process equipment, process control, etc.; other related duties. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 2:45 pm to 10:45 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 5, with a starting hourly rate not to exceed $32.23, plus $0.30 shift differential.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience
• Must possess a Grade II NH Operator Certificate
• High school diploma or certified equivalent, plus 1 year additional schooling in Wastewater Process
