Special Education Teacher for ESY (Extended School Year)

Session I - June 02 - June 26 7th (Monday-Thursday)
Hours 8:00 am-12:00 pm
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License)
- Endorsed in LBSI
- Bilingual (Spanish) (preferred)
- ESL endorsement (preferred)
Reports to: Director of Special Education
Job Goal: To monitor progress, advocate for, and teach each student with a Individual Education Plan and assigned to this caseload; enabling each student to reach his or her fullest potential.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide direct assistance/instruction to eligible students utilizing the Board approved curriculum with appropriate modifications and accommodations as a basis for the instruction.
- Create lesson plans and implement instructional practices that reflect accurate understanding of prerequisite relationships among topics and concepts and reflect familiarity with a wide range of effective pedagogical approaches related to the discipline.
- Attain information about levels of development for groups of students and differentiate the lesson to meet their needs.
- Display high standard of honesty, integrity and confidentiality in interaction with colleagues, students and the public.
- Demonstrate dependable attendance, punctuality and work ethic.
Technical Skills:
The individual must be proficient in computer usage, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and other school based software.
