Multiple vacancies exist for School Psychologists to work within the Office of Student Services, Mental Health Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. These positions will primarily support the MCIU's School Age K-12 classrooms and Non Pub schools and programs.
 
Qualifications:
 
• Valid PA certification in School Psychology required.
• Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred. (NASP-approved programs preferred)
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by MCIU upon hire).

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Completion of school-age evaluations for both public school and non-public schools. 
• Consult with teachers to educate them on various disabilities and provide strategies on how to work with them in the classroom. 
• Provide trainings for school personnel throughout Montgomery County.

Location:
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and provide services to students in School Age K-12 and Non-Pub classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA. Master’s, Step 1: $63,582/year
Master's+30, Step 1: $70,570/year

A vacancy exists for an Educational Consultant to work for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit at PaTTAN - East starting in the 2025-2026 school year.  The Educational Specialist provides expertise in the areas of special education, secondary transition, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and literacy to respond to PDE, BSE and eastern region IUs’ and their districts’ requests for technical assistance and provide professional development.

Qualifications:
• Must possess a Master’s Degree and a valid PA certification in one of the following: Special Education PK-12, School Psychology, Special Education Supervision or Administrative Certificate, or Speech Language Pathologist
• Expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas: special education, secondary transition, MTSS, and literacy
• Experience providing coaching, technical assistance, and professional development
• Ability to work effectively with professional personnel in educational agencies
• Ability to travel, valid PA driver's license and reliable transportation
• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Respond to PDE and BSE requests for technical assistance
• Respond to eastern region IUs’ and their districts’ requests for classroom coaching and systemic support
• Create and provide professional development for teachers, administrators, and IU personnel in the education of students with disabilities 
• Plan and participate in regional and statewide conferences, workshops, and planning sessions
• Assist in the preparation of publication materials (i.e., directories, brochures, training modules, manuals, and electronic resources)
• Some overnight travel is required

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 12 months (194 days/year)
Eligible to work up to 35 supplemental days/year

Master's+30, Step 1: $70,570/year

A vacancy exists for a Vision Support/Orientation & Mobility Teacher to work within the Office of Student Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.  This position is an Itinerant position that will provide services to children in School Age programs throughout the Montgomery County, PA area.  This position is available starting in the 2025-2026 school year.
 
Qualifications:
• A valid PA certification in Teacher of the Visually impaired (TVI) and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) required
• Special Education Certification required
• Prefer Unified English Braille trained (UEB) 
• Experience with students with vision support needs
• Current child abuse, PA Criminal and FBI Fingerprint clearance (dated within one year of hire)
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
• To develop an individualized program for students with vision support/orientation and mobility needs
• Conduct Functional Vision Evaluations, Learning Media Assessments, and ECC Assessment to determine eligibility for vision services.
• Develop a plan for delivering high quality, evidence based instruction and support for children in a variety of environments including general and special education classrooms, specialized schools, community settings and in homes.
• Knowledge of Braille, Low Vision Aids and adaptive technology skills.
• Assure that the student has all educational materials in the appropriate media.
• Work closely with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure that they understand the implications of visual impairment and the accommodations necessary to assure students have optimal access to instruction and social interactions.

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and provide services to students in School Age Special Education and Non-Pub classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA.
