Job Title: Assistant Principal / Activities Director
Duty Days: 260 days with an annual salary range of $90,000-$110,000

Qualifications
Valid principal license in the state of Minnesota is preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience as a coach, activities director, principal, and/or other leadership positions.
Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Principal
Student Management of Greenway High School and Middle School
Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods
Supervise the cafeteria/commons/locker-bay during the breakfast and lunch times
Supervise building and hallways during student passing times and before and after the student school day
Supervise staff and student activities conducted during the school day (assemblies, award days, pep fests, etc.)
Help to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior
Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable
Supervise the monitoring and maintaining of documentation for excused and unexcused student absences and tardies and report this information to the building principal on a regular basis
Maintain documentation for the Greenway School District and Attendance policies
Assign discipline as needed for students in grades 5 -12 who have unexcused absences and or tardies
Represent the school district in student truancy cases
Investigate attendance issues when appropriate
Personnel Management
Assist principal with observing employee performance, record observations. Serve as second appraiser for designated teacher appraisal system
Assist principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff
Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management
Supervise operations in the principal’s absence
Help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules
Assist with safety inspections and safety-drill practice activities
Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and board policy
School/Organizational Climate
Promote a positive, caring climate for learning
Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from all cultural backgrounds
Communicate effectively with students and staff

Duties and Responsibilities of Activities Director
Administer the activities and programs for grades 6-12 for the district
Make recommendations for the selection, assignment, and evaluation of athletic coaches and activity advisors
Develop and maintain all required MSHSL activities documentation
Develop and maintain an Activities Handbook that would consist of job descriptions, expectations of activity and athletic participants, code of conduct and expected process and procedures for various activities
Instruct students PreK-12 on Greenway Public School’s expectations of proper behavior at various events including musical and athletic events
Arrange and supervise all home and away events (schedules, officials, supervisors, workers, facilities, publicity, ticket sales, concession stand operation and transportation)
Responsible for facilities use (scheduling and communication)
Supervise organization and scheduling of all practices
Supervises all fundraising events connected with the activities program
Ensures there is no conflict for practices or performances
Develops the activities department equipment and supply budget
Supervises the purchasing, care, cleaning, and storage of all activities equipment
