Position Title: Instructional Aide (CTE Digital Photography & Film/Televison Production)
Department/Section: Flagstaff High School
Supervisor: Director of College & Career Development, campus administration, and FHS Photography Teacher
Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $18.75/hour (depending on experience).
Pay Grade: 21
Schedule: 30 hours/week; Monday - Friday (hours tbd); 9 month calendar; Benefits Offered, Arizona State Retirement System eligible.
Start Date: July 31, 2025
Summary of Function: Responsible for assisting in the supervision of students and general maintenance of the CTE Digital Photography and Film & Television Production Programs. Assisting the teacher with paperwork, correspondence, studio maintenance, and other daily duties.
Typical Tasks:
1. Supervision of students in small groups on photo assignments.
2. Perform accounting duties such as processing purchase orders, recording daily deposits.
3. Ordering and maintaining inventory and equipment operation.
4. Maintain grades and attendance records.
5. Communicate with parents, counselors, teachers and members of industry.
6. Help with the tracking and verifying of student competencies.
7. Assist teachers with special events such as registration fair, open house and career fest.
8. Assist teachers with Student Organizations (CTSOs) activities.
9. Weekly shopping responsibilities for photo supplies.
10. Assist student in classroom activities relating to the photography & film programs.
11. Assist teachers in classroom activities relating to the photography & film programs.
12. Assist teacher with developing/improving photography and film production programs.
This position does not require NCLB (No Child Left Behind).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Ability to work effectively with students and teachers.
· Must be honest, dependable and prompt.
· Skill in supervising and training students.
· Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize a work load.
· Basic understanding of record keeping, spreadsheets and inventory management.
· Use of general office equipment, such as: computer, phone, fax, copier, scanner, digital camera and audiovisual equipment.
· General retail knowledge, cashier functions and cash balancing procedures.
· General photography knowledge, including Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom software.
· General film knowledge, including Adobe Premier Pro software.
· Willingness to learn new techniques and training on various equipment and programs.
· Maintain a professional environment that follows and supports school policies.
· Knowledge of computer file management and maintenance, basic word processing and spreadsheet software.
· Ability to learn and implement new software.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot and analyze.
