    Permanent Subsitute Teacher (2 Positions available) 

    Both positions will provide coverage in classrooms as needed; however, one position will cover a 2nd grade maternity leave beginning in February 2025. There will be transition time for the substitute to work alongside the 2nd grade teacher before taking over the classroom. 
    An individual with an elementary PEL and experienced in teaching reading is highly preferred for the maternity coverage. 

     

    Job Goal:
    Appropriate interaction with all students and their parents, and work in close collaboration with other teachers within the department, colleagues, and the school administration. Demonstrate strong teaching skills, exceptional organization, appropriate classroom management, and be child-centered in all aspects of the position. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to increase student achievement. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide content and relevant learning experiences based on maturity level and general interests of the students.

     

    Terms of Employment:
    Permanent Substitutes are 180-day employees following the school calendar as annually adopted by the Board of Education. Monday-Friday - 8am-3pm, except for days when there are staff meetings, committee meetings, P/T conferences, Math or Literacy Nights and 8th Grade Graduation. If working after school activities hours may vary.

     

    Salary and benefits as defined within the teachers' contract and salary schedule. 2024-25 salary is $48,851 (pro-rated). Benefits include medical, dental, and life insurance. Tuition reimbursement, flex spending and health savings accounts are available.

     

    **Potential opportunities for After School Tutoring and Summer School at a rate of $55.00/hr.

     

    **Potential opportunities for coaching and club sponsors, which are stipend positions per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

     

    **Individuals who assist with translation are paid a $600.00 stipend per school year.
