Summary
As a Kitchen Manager, you will lead and coordinate the activities of kitchen employees responsible for preparing and serving food to students and staff. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including managing food orders, ensuring safety and quality standards, overseeing food service operations, and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.

Experience
One to three months of related experience and/or training.
Must have a Pinal County approved food handlers certificate or course.
Must possess a Serve Safe Certificate.
Will be required to attend state-sanctioned trainings.
Must obtain and maintain Serve-Safe certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Kitchen Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:
Food Service Coordination
Coordinate daily production and service across multiple points of service, including federal programs and snack bars.
Review student participation numbers to determine food type and quantity requirements.
Place food and supply orders with vendors, including direct communication for requisitions.
Determine daily production volume and maintain receiving and inventory records.
Prepare work schedules to ensure an adequate labor force on each shift and cover positions as needed.
Maintain food service records according to federal guidelines and departmental procedures.
Ensure food service standards are met, safe food handling, and a secure food-serving environment.
Kitchen Operations Supervision
Oversee and coordinate kitchen employees responsible for meal preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
Resolve food service problems and complaints related to meal program operations and federal program regulations.
Inspect the kitchen to ensure compliance with government and company safety and sanitation requirements.
Direct and participate in kitchen area cleaning, equipment maintenance, and inspections.
Inventory and Reporting
Assist with inventory management, including monthly and daily inventory of supplies.
Prepare various food service reports, such as production, menu, inventory, daily cash, and other reports.
Ensure accurate bank deposits.
Operate the POS system and manage timely invoice submissions to the Food Service office.
Emergency Response and Communication
Respond to food service emergency situations within established guidelines.
Establish and maintain open communication with the Food Service Director, site administrators, parents, staff, and students.
Communicate with the Food Service Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervise cafeteria employees, ensuring compliance with organization policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training, work assignment, performance appraisal, addressing complaints, and problem resolution.
Working Environment
This role may require sitting, reaching, talking, or hearing frequently. Occasional standing and walking are expected, along with occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
Terms of Employment
Salary based on column E of the approved Food Services Salary schedule as established by the Governing Board.
187 days, 8 hours per day.

The performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Food Services, following Governing Board Policy.
