Summary
The Food Services Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving food while ensuring quality and quantity in the Food Services Department. This role plays a pivotal part in providing nutritious meals to students in alignment with our commitment to educational equity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Food Services Cook include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Meal Preparation and Service
Assist in the preparation of breakfast and lunch to ensure high-quality and adequate quantities.
Assist in setting up the serving line.
Assist in serving meals and participate in the clean-up process.
Assist with the receiving and stocking of food supplies.
Sanitation and Safety
Ensure the cleanliness of the food service unit.
Maintain the safety of food items using Serve Safe methods.
Complete daily paperwork, including temperature logs and production sheets.
Cross-Training and Communication
Qualifications

Experience
Previous cafeteria experience considered a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Attention to accuracy and detail is crucial. The candidate must possess a Pinal County approved food handlers certificate or course and a Serve Safe Certification.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Terms of Employment
Salary based on Grade B of the approved Food Services Salary schedule as established by the Governing Board.
This is a 10-month position, requiring 8 hours per day.

Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by the Cafeteria Kitchen Manager, in accordance with Governing Board Policy.
