More than 8,600 diverse student learners are provided an exceptional education experience throughout the district’s early learning center, six elementary schools (K- Grade 5) including both French and Spanish Immersion programs, two middle schools (Grades 6-8), a high school (9-12), and the Edina Virtual Pathway online program.
The Early Childhood Screener will work with a developmental screener to complete Early Childhood Screening for the Edina School District. Screening is typically completed 4 to 6 times each month. Typical total monthly hours are between 30-40 hours total. An early childhood screening must be conducted by either an individual who is licensed as, or has training that is similar to a special education teacher, school psychologist, kindergarten teacher, prekindergarten teacher, school nurse, public health nurse, registered nurse, or physician.
The Early Childhood Screener responsibilities may include:
1. Completing hearing and vision screenings
2. Completing a health interview
3. Reviewing medical information
4. Summarizing findings
5. Reviewing results of hearing and vision screening with families.
6. Tracking screening data & following up on health related referrals
7. Making referrals to Early Childhood Special Education
8. Providing the families additional health and school-related resources
9. Collaborating with the developmental screener

RATE OF PAY: | The 2024-2025 starting salary range for this position is $31.91 to $34.00 per hour. Salary offers will consider the candidate's experience, education, skills, and the school district's budget. Experienced candidates should expect a salary offer around the midpoint of the salary range. In exceptional cases, salaries exceeding the midpoint may be offered to attract candidates for hard-to-fill positions or those with specialized skills. Such decisions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. |
