Second Grade Homeroom Teacher

St. Angela Merici Parish School, located in Fairview Park, is looking to fill a full-time position with a qualified teacher as part of its SAM School family for the 2025-26 school
year. The position is pseudo self-contained with this teacher being a science specialist for both classrooms. We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

? Love of Reading, Religion and Catholic faith practices as a second grade homeroom teacher
? Immersive Roman Catholic Sacramental Preparation experience with students via their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
? Ability and expertise in teaching the writing process and language mechanics, reading to learn, and teaching crucial skills in this area for SAM School second
grade students
? Well versed in the area of mathematics and guided instruction and small group lesson planning for varying levels
? An eagerness to learn, be part of a team, and contribute to a positive school culture at SAM School
? Strength in the area of differentiated instruction~Ability to implement tiered instruction, remediation and enrichment to our second grade students
? Insight into STEAM instruction and integration of project based learning in the classroom environment
? Appropriate Ohio Licensure: Pre-K-3 or equivalent, K-8 or 1-8

Recess Monitor - St. Angela Merici

The recess monitor's job is to supervise students during recess and lunch to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Responsibilities include: 
• Monitoring safety: Ensure students are safe on the playground and in the cafeteria, and when using play equipment 
• Managing students: Monitor students when they arrive and leave, and manage their movement between the cafeteria, playground, and halls 
• Communicating: Communicate with students and staff in a respectful and effective way 
• Reporting incidents: Report any accidents or incidents to the appropriate staff member 
• Providing feedback: Provide feedback to teachers and administrators about student discipline 
• Encouraging participation: Encourage students to be active, punctual, and cooperative 
• Cleaning up: Clean up spills and ensure clear routes for emergencies 
• Assisting with evacuations: Assist with evacuating the building in an emergency 
• Following policies: Comply with all board policies, drug-free workplace rules, and administrative guidelines 
Recess monitors should be able to read and understand verbal and written directions, and use technology to support their responsibilities.
Hours are 10:30 to 1:00 Daily with the possibility of additional hours occasionally.  5 day/week commitment is preferred, but we will consider subs and 2-3 day commitments.
