  •   Hiawatha CUSD #426 is looking for JH/HS School Teachers for the 2025 Summer School Session June 9-July 3, 2025, Monday-Thursday, 8am-noon.  Interested candidates should complete the online application, including a letter of interest, resume, along with 3 letters of reference.  Questions may be directed to Holly Way, District Administrative Assistant, Hiawatha CUSD #426 at: holly.way@d426.org

    Salary: $30/hour. June 9-July 3, 2025. Monday-Thursday, 8am-noon.

    TITLE: Teacher

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Valid Professional Educator License.
    2. Demonstrated desire to help all children.
    3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
    and acceptable.

    REPORTS TO: Building Principal

    JOB GOAL: To enable each student, through safe and efficient instruction, to take full advantage of the complete range of curricular and extracurricular activities offered by the district's schools.
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    ? Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
    ? Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
    ? Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and--in harmony with the goals--establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
    ? Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
    ? Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
    ? Advocate for struggling students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required.
    ? Collaborate with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
    ? Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior/procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
    ? Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals and/or volunteers and evaluate their job performance.
    ? Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
    ? Attend staff meetings, PLC meetings, and serves on staff committees as required.
    ? Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance.
    ? Maintains a positive attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with school personnel and the public as a school leader.
