Duties/responsibilities:
• FY26: Plan and manage the development of a DeKalb ROE Safe School in collaboration with county school districts for full implementation in FY27 when the school opens (behavior management system, technology, policies and procedures, facilities, fiscal planning, student eligibility and intake process, etc.)
• Starting in FY27: Serve as the Building Principal for the DeKalb ROE Safe School grades 6-12
• Maintain a safe, supportive and effective learning environment for less than 50 students that is student-centered, differentiated, and rehabilitative
• Manage daily operations, accountability, policy and procedures of the staff
• Assist in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, evaluating, and retaining the staff
• Manage applicable grants including application, deliverables, data collection, program evaluation, reports, program expenditures and budgets
• Be a visible and engaged leader who understands the DeKalb County school systems, the communities, and resources
• Build and maintain positive relationships with Safe School staff, DeKalb County school personnel, community members, and families including professional communications
• Establish and enforce safety and emergency procedures
• Engage in continuous improvement of all operations
• Design, prepare, and deliver information in large, small-group, and individual settings
• Build skills by participating in conferences, workshops, and meetings

• Attends training that is required by the school district (e.g. random drug testing, refresher course, etc.).
• Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance.
• Maintains a positive attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with school personnel and the public as a school leader.
Requirements:
Valid CDL Class B license with School Bus endorsement.
Demonstrated desire to help all children.

Reports to: Transportation Coordinator

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Nine month school year.  Salary and work to be established by Board based upon recommendation by the Superintendent.
