POSITION Teacher – STAR/Wildcat Academy Program
DESCRIPTION In addition to the duties of a classroom teacher, the STAR/Wildcat Academy teacher will:
- coordinate programming and support for the STAR/Wildcat Academy program.
- maintain an intake process for full time STAR/Wildcat Academy students
- be highly organized and have general knowledge of a variety of academic content.
- work with reluctant learners and their families with the goal of connecting and providing structure.
- assist students in recovering credit due to academic failure.
- facilitate learning in a nontraditional school setting for reluctant learners and remote learners.
- work closely with Student Services staff to support STAR/Wildcat Academy students.
- ?create opportunities for STAR/Wildcat Academy students to connect current learning with future careers/pathways.
QUALIFICATIONS
- ISBE Professional Educator License with high school endorsement(s) appropriate to the position
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
