    Early Childhood Summer Assessment Team - Occupational  Therapist 

     

    LOCATION:   Brokaw Early Learning Center 

     

    DATES:  Inservice:   May 27, 2025 

     

    Evaluation Dates: Week of Jun 2, 2025

     

    Staffing Dates: Weeks of June 9 and Jun 16, 2025

     

    Approximately 40 hours in total 

     

    General Description: 

     

    In collaboration with team members: 

     
    • evaluate early childhood students in a play based format 

    • make recommendations regarding eligibility, accommodations, goals, and services.

    • Complete evaluation reports, necessary paperwork and attend IEP meetings

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    Qualified applicant must:

     
    • Hold a current OT license with IDFPR

     
    • Demonstrate knowledge of Early Childhood Standards and the  ability to interact appropriately/effectively  with preschool students of various skill levels

    • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication

    • Demonstrate efficient and effective time management skills

    • Demonstrate positive collaborative relationships with staff and parents 

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

     
    1. Complete an evaluation of fine motor skills and sensory skills  in a play based approach 

    2. Use professional judgment to consider gathering additional information from EI or private therapists

    3. Utilize all available information to make decisions regarding fine motor delays, sensory differences and educational needs 

    4. Produce written reports of evaluation results, make recommendations,  and present results to team members including parents 

    5. Contribute to decision making regarding eligibility 

    6. Develop goals and objectives; contribute to development of the IEP

    7. Collaborate with other team members to complete necessary tasks for each student’s file

    8. Performs other related duties as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring  efficient and effective evaluations 

    9.  Maintain knowledge of and adherence to special education laws, rules, and regulations.

    10.  Maintain and promote confidentiality of student and district records, in accordance with best practice and ethics.

     

     

     

    COMPENSATION: $50.00 per hour 

     

    REPORTS TO:  Early Childhood Summer Assessment Coordinator
