    Salary: Commensurate with experience

    Work Year: 8/18/2025 - 6/2/2026
    Days Off: 10 holidays plus winter break (10 days) and spring break (5 days)
    Schedule: 8:15am - 3:45pm

    Qualifications & Licensure
    Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 K-12 or K-5 endorsement required

    Reports to:
    Assistant Director of Student Services

    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Demonstrate knowledge of best practice in the area of special education service delivery
    • Demonstrate the ability to work with students across a range of disabilities (i.e. Specific Learning Disability, Emotional Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Multiple Disabilities, etc.)
    • Provide individualized instruction that aligns with students' identified goals and objectives as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) on a daily basis
    • Plan for and deliver instruction across educational settings (i.e. general and special education)
    • Support students in the generalization of skills across settings
    • Demonstrate the use of instructional strategies such as positive behavior interventions and supports, prompting hierarchies, visual supports, and sensory integration
    • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve in the moment in the best interest of students
    • Take a lead role in the educational team (i.e. assistants, related service staff, etc.)
    • Oversee and coordinate programming for students who receive a higher level of adult support as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
    • Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with inclusive practices
    • Serve as a Section 504 case manager as needed
    • Provide written feedback to parents and teams related to a student's progress toward their identified goals and objectives
    • Serve as a member of the Crisis Response and Threat Assessment Teams
    • Monitor student progress through the use of formal and informal assessments
    • Use a high degree of modeling, reinforcement, and visual supports to optimize learning and student engagement
    • Co-plan and co-teach with general and/or related service staff 

    Terms of Employment:
    10 Month Position; salary and benefits as determined annually by the D28 Board of Education
