Bus Mechanic I
Conway Public School District
Qualifications: - High school or general education diploma
- Documented experience with diesel engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
- Knowledge of tire inspection
- Ability to inspect school buses to meet Arkansas state standards
- Possesses Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger, school bus, and air brakes endorsements or completion of CDL requirements within the first year of employment.

Terms of Employment:
The contract length will be 240 days.
Evaluation:
Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the transportation supervisor.
Job Goal:
The Bus Mechanic I will endeavor to assist the transportation supervisor with everyday operations of the Transportation Shop.
Performance Responsibilities: - Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Conducts routine inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on other fleet vehicles.
- Performs maintenance and operation of equipment.
- Prioritizes mechanical failures.
- Inventories parts, tools, and equipment.
- Maintains all shop areas.
- Remain updated on safety regulations, recalls, and best practices in fleet maintenance.
- Keeps and maintains shop records and reports.
- Available for transportation problems that may arise after normal working hours.
- Other duties, as assigned.
