Qualifications: - High school diploma and college experience preferred

Terms of Employment:
The contract length will be 185 days.
Evaluation:
Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the Principal who is assisted by the Assistant Principal in regard to evaluations.
Job Goal:
The In-School Suspension Paraprofessional will endeavor to maintain a caring and instructional environment for students to learn responsibility, have re-teaching opportunities, and accept logical consequences.
Performance Responsibilities: - Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Communicates with administrators, students, staff, and parents in a courteous, professional manner.
- Records data for factual documentation, accountability, and evaluation purposes.
- Exercises crisis management methodologies and strategies to de-escalate student behavior.
- Monitors for hostile behaviors leading to conflict to ensure the safety of surrounding students and staff.
- Collaborates with teachers to collect assignments and provide academic assistance.
- Works with and understands the needs of a diverse student population.
- Maintains an instructional focus among students in the room.
- Maintains a calm and professional demeanor in all circumstances.
- Responds rapidly in emergency situations.
- Has organization and time management skills.
- Other duties, as assigned.
