    Position Title: Migrant Education Tutor or Paraprofessional    
    Reports To: Principal    
        
    Primary Function:                                                                        
                                                                                                    
    Provides one-on-one additional, differentiated, and accelerated instructional assistance to migrant students under the supervision of the students’ teachers.
                                                                                                    
    Requirements:                                                                            
                                                                                                    
    Educational Level: HS Diploma or GED, two years or more of college preferred.
    Certification/Licensing: Paraprofessional Certification required
    Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills, student management and supervision skills, ability to deliver a variety of instructional strategies to students. Possess organizational skills, interpersonal skills and computer competency. Prefer fluent oral Spanish.  
    Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties. 


    GENERAL    
    1.    Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.    
    2.    Demonstrates appropriate verbal and communication skills as applicable for the job.
    3.    Acts in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues and exhibits the fundamentals of good public/customer service.
    4.    Complies with system Cultural Diversity Guidelines in dealing with students, parents, coworkers and the public
    5.    Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements.    
    6.    Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of sensitive student and parent information.    
    7.    Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities.
    8.    Participates in appropriate training, workshops and staff development activities and applies what is learned to the job; accepts new challenges in a professional manner.     
    9.    Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision.
    10.  Exhibits time on task, a flexible, cooperative, progressive and hard- working attitude and style. Limits personal business and phone calls during work hours.
    11.  Takes direction readily in a cooperative manner from the supervisor.

    MIGRANT EDUCATION 
    12.    Follows classroom teacher’s strategies for reinforcing the academic skills of migrant students.
    13.    Processes and relays accurate information to teachers and parents.
    14.    Provides direct instruction to migrant students through a combination of individual and small group activities.
    15.    Provides information to the classroom teacher to assure coordinated provision of instructional and social services for migrant students.
    16.    Maintains and submits required migrant student reports.
    17.    Works closely with system recruiters and school social workers to plan and coordinate migrant parent meetings to inform parents of the educational process.
    18.    Completes required ID/R duties as appropriate at the school level.

    OTHER
    19.    Demonstrates loyalty to the school, school system and administrators.
    20.    Enhances the climate of the building and the morale of colleagues..
    21.    Completes reports, documentation, duties, and other assignments in a prompt and professional manner.
    22.    Participates in in-service training at the school, system, and regional level. 
    23.    Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
