Substitute Paraeducators

Hourly Rate: $17.264
The Substitute Paraeducator provides one-on-one or small group instruction; assists with classroom management or individual student behavior; provides assistance in a computer laboratory; provides support in a library or media center; assists in training and support with functional skill activities, such as personal care or assistive technology; or provides instructional services to students under the direct supervision of a teacher.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Delivery of Service
Willingly accepts and carries out assignments.
Demonstrates a willingness to learn new tasks.
Demonstrates a cooperative attitude with others.
Interacts positively with students.
Assists students, individually or in small groups, to help them master assignments and reinforce learning concepts presented by the teachers.
Reinforces positive behaviors and social skills to the students.
Assists the teachers with classroom management.
Supervises students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playgrounds, and all areas of the school environment including on field trips as needed.
Provides extra assistance to students with special needs.
Observes students’ performance and records relevant data to assess progress.
