Food Service Director
Title: District Food Service Director
Description: The Camdenton R-III School District is accepting applications for the position of Food Service Director. We are seeking a high-energy, collaborative individual with a proven record of leadership and a commitment to continuous learning. This individual will be a key member of our district leadership team, dedicated to upholding the proud traditions and high expectations of the Camdenton R-III School District.
The Food Service Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the district’s food service program to ensure high-quality, nutritious meals are provided in a clean, welcoming, and student-focused environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage a large team of employees and oversee the daily operations of a high-volume meal service program.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma with preference given to applicants with college hours.
2. Good Health and free from communicable diseases, and clean in personal habits and dress.
3. Demonstrated competence for assigned responsibilities with previous personnel supervision is preferred.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
5. 12 hours of continuing education/training in school nutrition services.
6. At least 8 hours of food safety training or completed within 30 calendar days of employee’s start date.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Be responsible for the administration of the National School breakfast, lunch, and special milk programs, including the maintenance of all records and reports that are required.
2. Recommend employment of food service personnel to the Assistant Superintendent and provide supervision and training of all food service personnel.
3. Evaluate job performance of food service personnel and make annual recommendations for continued employment or termination of employees to the Board of Education. Document all deficiencies as needed.
4. Plan all menus and provide for publication and distribution of menus.
5. Purchase competitively all food necessary to meet menu requirements of National School Lunch, breakfast, and milk programs.
6. Maintain an inventory of all goods, supplies, and equipment.
7. Report to Payroll Clerk all necessary payroll reports.
8. Check all bills and purchase orders for accuracy and present them for payment.
9. Plan disposition of government commodities as part of the food service program.
10. Evaluate all requests for equipment and recommend to the Assistant Superintendent major equipment needs.
11. Prepare specifications and bid conditions for all items requiring bids by law or Board policy.
12. Visit all cafeterias regularly, checking that high standards of diet, health, and safety are maintain and observe possible improvements in operations.
13. Plan and supervise special school functions such as banquets and receptions required for district sponsored events.
14. Attend food shows and workshops as needed to effectively direct the food service program.
15. Cooperate with Principals in conducting the food service program and related activities.
16. Keep patrons and the public informed of menus and services offered by the school cafeterias and of the health and educational benefits gained by children through participation in the school food service program.
17. Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned.
Full-Time Salary Range:
12 months (259 days): $55,000.00 to $60,000
