    Marine Service Technology Instructor (Adult students)

     

    The Lake Career and Technical Center is seeking a student-centered, dynamic individual who is a team player to lead and develop our Marine Service Technician Training Program. This position requires an engaging educator who can effectively collaborate with area business leaders to ensure students are equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in the marine service industry.

     

    Qualifications:

     
    1. Must possess and maintain proper Missouri teaching certificate for the area/content to which he or she has been assigned.

    2. Complete original transcript of college hours must be placed on file in the superintendent’s office before the beginning of the school year for which the teacher has been hired.

    3. Any additional hours of credit earned while the teacher is under contract should also be filed in the same manner.

    4. Verification of one of the following:

     

    1)  Possession of a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university in the subject area being taught and four thousand (4,000) hours of DESE-approved, related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years.

     

    2)  Possession of an associates’ degree from an accredited college or university in the subject area being taught and five thousand (5,000) hours of DESE-approved, related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years.

     

    3)  Six thousand (6,000) hours of DESE –approved, related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years.

     
    1. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with colleagues, analyze student data, and make necessary instructional interventions for student growth that are based on data and best practices in education. 

    2. Pass all background checks and screenings.

     

    Responsibilities:

     
    • Instruct and train students in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine engines, rigging, and electronic systems.

    • Develop and deliver a hands-on curriculum that includes classroom instruction and practical experience aligned with industry standards.

    • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications, including:

       
      • Yamaha Certification

      • Mercury Certification

      • CPR Certification

      • OSHA 10 Certification

      • SkillsUSA Certification

    • Foster relationships with local marine businesses to enhance student learning opportunities, internships, and job placements.

    • Maintain a safe and organized shop environment that supports student learning and skill development.

    • Integrate industry trends and emerging technologies into the curriculum to keep training relevant.

    • Support students’ career readiness by teaching professional skills, workplace safety, and technical competencies.

     

    Qualifications:

     
    • Experience in marine service, marine technology, or a related field.

    • Industry certifications (Yamaha, Mercury, etc.) preferred or willingness to obtain.

    • Teaching experience or experience in workforce training is a plus.

    • Strong communication and organizational skills.

    • Ability to engage students and create a positive learning environment.

    • Commitment to working with industry partners to promote student success.

       

       

      Salary Starting at: $42,500.00
