DESCRIPTION:

1.	Provide assistance and ongoing training to staff in the design and implementation of personalized student behavioral intervention plans and other areas associated with Tier 1 classroom management systems and behavioral intervention strategies to promote a healthy classroom environment and effective planning, organization, and implementation of strategies for optimum behavior outcomes.

2.	Work with students, parents, and staff in developing behavior plans, based on collected data, to address identified behaviors. Help students assume responsibility for their own self-regulation and behavior.
3.	Work with students and parents/guardians to develop cooperative and trusting relationships with the teacher, school, and community resources. This includes establishing lines of communication between the home and school, and understanding the importance of daily school attendance.
4.	Collaborate and maintain frequent communication with parents, school and district administration, and community professionals in ensuring students are receiving the supports needed to be successful. This may include assisting in coordinating access to community services for families.
5.	Design and implement a fair and equitable referral process that is consistently applied in all schools. Collect and maintain data pertinent to the scope of the job, including an annual report documenting the program services and data showing results of services.
6.	If serving as a teacher in a transitional classroom setting, work with community professionals, the District team, and building administrator(s) in the design and implementation of an effective transitional learning classroom environment for elementary students.
7.	Follow BPS policies and procedures, including disciplinary policies. Exercise fiscal responsibility with any given annual budget. Be able to drive and access all district buildings as necessary during the day.
8.	Attend pertinent professional development opportunities.
9.	Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational requirements.

JOB GOAL: The Billings Public Schools library program mission is to maximize the ability to access information. Students will be empowered users of information utilizing their critical and creative thinking skills in the research process. Libraries will provide opportunities to learn about resources and technologies within and beyond the library media center. Our libraries will provide quality District/school-site collections of materials.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS: Library Media Specialists should be able to use programs to use email, create word processing documents, and use web-based research tools. Library Media Specialists should know how to use and should be able to teach all research databases provided by the District as well as other online catalogue/resources. It is required that all library Media Specialists also know and understand how to use technology involved with the library automation system. Library Media Specialists understand basic cabling connections, email and internet communication strategies, and assist with log-on and input needs related to the school-site server.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but not limited to the following):

Administrative
1.   Develops short- and long-range goals that guide the development of school library media center program.
2.   Promotes a positive relationship with students, staff, and the school community.
3.   Develops and implements policies and procedures for the operation of the school library media center.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate will have or complete District approved Behavioral Technician course work within 90 days of employment
Complete all required supervised experiences with designated district staff

EXPERIENCE:
Preferred experience working with children ages 0-19 in a classroom or 1:1 setting
Preferred experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, Educational, or Speech, or experience

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma
Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or related field

RELATED TRAINING: Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and training once employed including, but not limited to: MANDT, District approved RBT training and other District in-services and training as directed by supervisor.

Handle conflicts or physical situations between students
