GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The gifted specialist will coordinate gifted programming; ensure compliance with state regulations; coordinate testing and identification procedures; complete reports, records, and Written Education Plans (WEPs); and assist in providing high-quality professional development and auditing gifted programs. Must have or be able to obtain a Gifted Intervention Specialist (K-12) Endorsement through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Valid teaching certification for gifted instruction through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
? Three years of teaching experience in gifted education.
? Master’s degree preferred.
? Experience leading high quality professional development (especially for gifted educators), instructional coaching or mentoring recommended.
? Experience with coordination of gifted education, including gifted testing, preferred.
? Ability to collaborate and communicate with a variety of teachers, administrators, and other professionals.
? Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity in all aspects of our organization and the schools we serve.
? Strong organizational skills.
? Experience in using instructional technology, including online learning tools.
? History of good job attendance.
? Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle.
? Must pass criminal background checks and be free from communicable disease.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
