GENERAL DESCRIPTION             
Substitutes can work in a variety of roles including:
• Monitoring students on the school bus, at recess, or in the cafeteria
• Assisting the school bus driver with students with special needs
• Monitoring students in the before/after school Latchkey program
• Assisting students and teachers in the classrooms
 
HOURLY RATE
$16.00/hour holding an Educational Aide Permit with the ESEA highly qualified endorsement on permit - effective 11/1/2024
$13.00/hour holding a standard Educational Aide Permit - effective 11/1/2024

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS                      
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Apply for and maintain an Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). Individuals interested in applying for the ESEA endorsement on their peremit will need to meet one of the criteria (1) hold an Associate’s degree or higher, (2) have taken forty-eight semester hours of college coursework, or (3) take a Paraprofessional exam. The HR office is here to help answer any questions you may have about this process including applying for your permit or scheduling an exam.

Substitutes support the daily operation of the school buildings by providing a clean, attractive and safe environment for students, staff and visitors by dusting, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting and trash removal. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis, primarily second or third shift during the school year.

Hourly rate for substitutes - $15.50/hour (effective November 1, 2024).

Summary:                                           
Provide before and after school care for children in Kindergarten-5^th grade. Assist the team leader in developing a fun and engaging atmosphere for children, while ensuring their health and safety in the educational environment. Ideal candidate will have experience with or passion for working with children. Must have patience, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.  Must be reliable and dependable, and have a willingness to work and collaborate with peers/Latchkey team members.
 
Training provided by district.
 
Qualifications:
Ability to apply for and maintain a valid Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). The Office of Human Resources can assist with this process.
 
Minimum Education:    
 
High School Diploma or equivalent.  Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
 
 
 
Hourly Rate:
