Bandera Middle School School is looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and energetic Special Education Resource Teacher to join the BMS Family for the 2025-26 school year.

Bandera ISD is a 4-Day instructional week district. 

Start Date: July 28, 2025

Job Description:
Applicant will provide support and instruction for Special Education Resource students (Grades 6th-8th) through the planning, design, creation, and delivery of lessons and learning activities/experiences to help students reach their full potential for social and academic growth. Academic Courses (Mathematics/Reading & Language Arts) will be determined by applicant's experience, strengths, and skills sets.

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Elementary School Teaching Certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certificate with required endorsements

Additional Information/Requirements:
- Develop, modify and prepare curricula to ensure high quality instruction based upon student abilities and skill levels
- Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEPs through the ARD process for each assigned student
- Work cohesively with the Special Education Department staff in a self-contained team atmosphere
- Work cooperatively with regular education classroom teachers to modify curricula, and assist Special Education students in the regular classroom
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Participate in staff development activities and improve job-related skills
- Supervise assigned teacher aides when applicable
- Other duties as assigned as per the needs of the campus/district

Position is responsible for teaching Middle School Mathematics courses. Exact course and grade level will be determined by applicant's experience, strengths, and skill sets.

Grades: 6th - 8th 

 Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Texas Teaching License and appropriate endorsements for the grade levels and subjects taught

Additional Information:
- High Needs Stipend for Mathematics available
- Team planning with colleagues to ensure high quality instruction and assessment
- Develop, modify and prepare curricula to ensure high quality instruction based upon student abilities and skill levels
- Provide classroom instruction to whole groups, small groups, and individuals
- Demonstrate the effective use of technology to enhance instruction and support student interest and growth
- Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways.
- Collect and analyze student data to drive instruction
- Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff, and provide meaningful feedback
- Communicate necessary information and student progress regularly to students, colleagues, and parents
- Work cohesively with the campus staff in a fast-paced atmosphere
- Work cooperatively with Special Education teachers to modify curricula, and instruct and assess Special Education students in the regular classroom
