Qualifications:
 
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required
• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education (K-12) or equivalent required.
• Experience working with young students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred.
• Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and other evidence-based practices for supporting students with ASD preferred.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with ASD, in collaboration with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Design and deliver instructional lessons that are differentiated to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to promote communication, social skills development, and independence among students.
• Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies and goals as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning, respect, and emotional support for all students.
• Collaborate effectively with other educators, therapists, and support staff to coordinate services and optimize student outcomes.

Summary of Position: 
 
This is an itinerant position providing orientation & mobility (O&M) instruction to visually impaired students, ages 3 through 21, throughout Chester County.  The position requires the O&M Instructor to work with various students within Chester County school districts during their school hours.  
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
1. Conduct assessment of student with visual impairment to evaluate their strengths and needs with respect to navigating their physical environment safely, including the needs to cane and other necessary equipment and technology. 
2. Develop Orientation & Mobility (O&M) IEP goals, including goals related to public transport and community travel for the blind students.   
3. Provide direct instruction in O&M based on the students’ IEP goals. 
4. Consult with school personnel to ensure supports and accommodations for students’ safe travel throughout the school environments.  
5. Consult with families so they can understand the students’ specific strengths and need and can help support student’s travel skills.  
 
Qualifications:
 
• Bachelor's degree in Orientation & Mobility reqiured
• ACVREP Certification reqiured
• Current police and child abuse and FBI Fingerprints reqiured
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire.)    
 
Salary (2025-2026 School Year):
 
Project, Level 16: $63,063.96/yr. - $79,504.77/yr. 
*Placement on salary schedule is based upon direct experience in a similar position*

6. Conduct O&M assessments for all children with visual impairments who are referred by the educational team through their designated LEA representative. 
 
Preferred (+ Orientation & Mobility Instructor): 
 
1. Provides instruction in vision techniques and in the use of vision-related materials and devices including, but not limited to, visual efficiency skills, utilization of residual vision, concept and sensory development, spatial orientation, familiarization to environments, and utilization of tactile, visual and auditory maps 
2. Teaches students using curriculum, and instructional methods and techniques which enhance the student's ability to improve independent functioning 
3. Interpret implications of Visual Impairment to all members of the school community. 
4. Assure that the student has all educational materials in the appropriate media. 
5. Participate in the multidisciplinary team to develop IEP’s and other similar documents.

A vacancy exists for a Special Education Teacher- Autistic Support within the Student Services division of Chester County Intermediate Unit to support students enrolled at the CHAAMP program. Communities Helping Adolescents with Autism Make Progress (CHAAMP) is an applied behavior analysis instructional program designed to prepare students with an autism spectrum disorder for greater independence. The CHAAMP program is an innovative, community-based program in which students with autism use the community as their classroom. Students ages 14-21 with moderate to severe autism work with specialized staff to build the skills to transition from school to independent, adult life. The goal at CHAAMP is to help students become fully participating members of the local Chester County community. CHAAMP supports functional academics, community living, independent living, recreation/leisure skills and pre-vocational training. CHAAMP offers a 1:8 teacher-to-student ratio and 1:1 behavior mentor-to-student ratio.

Qualifications:
 
• Valid PA Certification in Special Education N-12 or 7-12 required
• 3-5 years of Autism and ABA experience preferred
• Experience with designing community-based programming preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of election; De-escalation and restraint training required within the first 3 months of employment
• Current child abuse, criminal history, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
• Clearance as an MA provider by the federal government and commonwealth of PA (conducted by the CCIU upon hire)
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing and directing a behavioral model for the students at the CHAAMP Program, a secondary transition program for students with moderate to severe autism. Use principles of applied behavior analysis to promote positive behaviors as developed in student's IEP. Implement community-based programming with a focus on prevocational skills, daily living skills, and recreation and leisure activities.
 
Salary 2024-25 school year:
 
• $56,355 to $87,396 - Instructional I Certification
• $58,814 to $90,897 - Instructional II Certification
• $62,567 to $99,261 - Master's Degree
• $66,706 to $105,039 - Masters + 30

• Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required.
• PDE Special Education certification required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
• Provide specially designed instruction for eligible special education students.
• Plan curriculum and lessons.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
• Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.

The Chester County Intermediate unit has an opening for an HVAC Instructor for the 2025-26 school year starting in August 2025. This vacancy exists within the Division of Career, Technical & Customized Education at the Technical College High School (TCHS) Pickering campus in Phoenixville, PA.

The Chester County Technical College High School (TCHS) is a public high school specializing in career and technical education for students in grades 9-12. Our programs prepare students for success in college, the workplace and life. All of our career and technical programs are aligned to both Pennsylvania State Standards and national industry certifications. 
 
Upon successful completion of a career and technical education course of study, students receive a profile of the standards they have studied and mastered. In addition, a competency certificate is issued to each graduate that lists the number of skills mastered and the level of proficiency in each skill.   
 
The Technical College High School is operated by the Chester County Intermediate Unit on behalf of Chester County's 12 public school districts.

Qualifications:
• Appropriate PDE Vocational certification or the ability to enroll in a PDE approved certification program, and appropriate HVAC related certifications or have successfully completed the appropriate Occupational Competency Assessment. 
• In addition to the minimum PDE certification requirements; candidates should possess relevant industry certifications. 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of HVAC is required. 
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students.
Duties include: 
• Program development
• Maintain and practice an effective safety program with the curriculum
• Consistent and effective program recruitment
• Effective supervision of all students at TCHS-Pickering
• Maintain and modify curriculum to remain current
• Develop and maintain a productive Occupational Advisory Committee
• Maintain appropriate professional certificate(s) and licenses as required
• Maintenance of appropriate industrial certifications on a regular basis
• Develop and maintain a positive production account
• Other assignments requested by the principal or designee

Emergency Certification: $56,749 - $86,206
PDE Level 1: $58,751 - $88,563
PDE Level 2: $61,300 - $92,110
*placement on salary schedule is determined based on direct previous HVAC experience
