The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is now accepting applications for Special Education Teachers within the Division of Student Services for the 2025 - 2026 School Year. These positions will be located IU Countywide and within our surrounding districts.

The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and the local school districts, the Intermediate Unit's mission is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required.
- PDE Special Education certification required.
- Experience teaching in Special Education k-12 classrooms preferred
Duties & Responsibilities: - Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
- Provide specially designed instruction for eligible special education students.
- Plan curriculum and lessons.
- Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.
- Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
- Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.
- Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress.
- When appropriate, develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
- Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.
- Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students.
Salary - 2025-2026 School Year (Professional): $58,751 - $88.563 - Instructional I
$61,300 - $ 92,110 - Instructional II
$65,394 - $100,586 - Master's degree
$68,403 - $104,546 - Master's degree plus 15 credits
$69,938 - $106,442 - Master's degree plus 30 credits
