Qualifications:
• BSN or bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science area required, with coursework in growth and development, health assessment, public or school health, crisis intervention and health education.  Master’s degree in related field preferred.
• Valid PA nursing license required. 
• Current School Nurse Certification required, per state guideline CSPG 80 - School Nurse (PK-12)
• Current CPR/First Aid certification required
•  Child abuse, state police & FBI fingerprint clearances, current within one year required
• Successful experiences working with special education population, preferably in a community or school setting desirable.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire) 

Position Purpose:
• To provide assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students for the purpose of minimizing absences due to illness, maximizing educational opportunities, and creating a healthy school climate.

Essential Functions:
• Works collaboratively with health care providers, students parents, school staff and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for students.
• Assists in the establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive school health program.
• Collects information about the health development status of students for compliance with state immunization regulations and Board of Education policies.
• Conducts school programs of immunization, physical examinations, and sight and hearing testing.
• Performs nursing assessment for students who are ill or injured; applies appropriate theory as basis for providing first aid, nursing care, intervention and referrals for those students.
• Evaluates nursing care provided and changes plan of care as necessary.
• Implements Board policy with respect to the exclusion and readmission of students in connection with certain infectious and contagious diseases (e.g., Tuberculosis).
• Maintains accurate records and documentation in accordance with state and federal law, and Board of Education policies.
• Develops individual health care plan (ICHP) when needed with specific goals, nursing diagnosis, and interventions delineating school-nursing actions unique to students’ needs and for incorporation into the student’s individualized educational plan (IEP).
• Intervenes as guided by the nursing care plan to implement nursing actions that promote, maintain or restore health, prevent illness and effect rehabilitation.
• Serves as a member of school teams as designated health care professional (e.g., Crisis Teams, PPT, Section 504).
• Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and others as needed to meet student health needs.
• Provides instruction and training regarding the Heimlich Maneuver, Blood Borne Pathogen training, the school district’s Emergency plan, and with regard to providing care for students, including students with disabilities.
• Contributes to nursing and school health through innovations in theory; practice and participation in research, including narrative and statistical reports.
• Provides medical assessment to school administration team as requested.
• Provides health education to students as requested.
• Notifies the appropriate person or agency of student’s injury/illness in accordance with Board policy as necessary.
• Confers with parents, students and school district staff and professionals to interpret health and developmental assessments.

Schedule:
7.5 hours a day; 209-days per year (213 year one; 210 year two)

• $64,695 to $99,986 - Instructional II Certification

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 
The primary role of the behavior mentor is to implement proactive, evidence-based strategies both individually with students and with staff by modeling strategies.  The behavior mentor uses principles of applied behavior analysis to extinguish negative behaviors and promote positive replacement behaviors as developed in students’ IEPs. The mentor works collaboratively with classroom staff to implement Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), collect data on current IEP goals and interventions, and communicate noted trends to classroom staff. The mentor will utilize de-escalation techniques and management strategies for student-student or student-staff conflicts. The mentor works in conjunction with and reports directly to the Behavior Analyst. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to: 
 
1. Assisting the Teacher: 
 
• Serve as liaison between Behavior Consultant/Behavior Analyst/administrative staff to ensure classroom staff implement students’ PBSPs/teaching plans with fidelity. 
• Model proactive, evidence-based strategies for classroom staff. 
• Collect data on current goals, current interventions, discipline referrals, and ABC data for new Functional Behavior Assessments.  
• Generate data tracking systems in collaboration with classroom staff to represent collected data graphically to ensure communication of student progress. 
• Maintain paperwork for each student to support staff collaboration to include IEP at a glance, important personal information, most current PBSP highlights, the student’s goals with tracking sheets, and pertinent data tools like ABC sheets or DBR scales. 
• Arrange the learning environment. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 
 
2. Assisting with Students: 
 
• Implement universal expectations and follow established consequences for all students, while implementing strategies and individualized modifications for all students with specific programming. 
• Work independently with students to provide opportunities to reinforce and practice newly taught replacement behaviors. 
• Work independently with students to generalize learned replacement behaviors to new learning environments. 
• Support students placing themselves or others in imminent risk by implementing Personal Emergency Interventions, after having been trained and demonstrating competency in the skills.  
 
3. Assisting with Clerical Duties: 
 
• Work independently to represent collected data graphically. 
• Work independently to enter all daily data into provided templates (Skill Card Database).  
• Entering discipline referrals into the Student Information System. 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education and Experience: 
• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree (psychology, education, social work, counseling) preferred 
• Previous experience working with students with significant emotional and behavioral needs; demonstrated ability to relate well to adolescent population desired. 
• ABA experience required 
• Experience working with special education students required 
• CPR/First Aid Certification required within 30 days of hire 
• Registered Behavior Technician Credential required to obtain within 90-days of hire
• PA Ciminal and Child abuse Clearances current withtin 180 days prior to start date required
• FBI clearance current within 1 year of start date required  
• Clearance as an MA provider by both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the federal government required (conducted upon hire)
 
SALARY 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR:
 
• Support, Band 12, Hourly $25.77 - $32.22 Hourly ($40,597 - $50746 when annualized)
• Placement on the salary schedule based upon related experience 
 

SCHEDULE:
 
• Monday- Friday. 7.5 hours/day, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM, 210 days/year

At the present time, a vacancy for a part-time Instructional Assistant position exists within the Speech and Language department of the CCIU. This position will assist the staff speech/language therapists in general daily activities. The Instructional Assistant is directly monitored by the Speech and Language Therapists assigned to the building and is responsible to and evaluated by the Supervisor of Speech and Language Services.
 
Qualifications:
• An undergraduate degree required (communication sciences disorders is preferred)

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
Assisting the speech/language therapists:
1. Preparing instructional materials.
2. Maintaining discipline and other behavior management functions.

4. Assembling, adjusting, and maintaining equipment and technology used in the instructional program.
5. Performing other duties as assigned.
Assisting with Students:
1. Escorting students to and from speech/language session.
2. Prompting students within speech/language therapy sessions.
3. Programming AAC devices.
4. Collecting data on student performance within speech/language therapy sessions.
Assisting with Clerical Duties:
1. Completing record keeping tasks assigned by the speech/language therapist.

The Discover Program offers a comprehensive work-based learning approach related service that prepares high school students with disabilities to transition from school to adult life.

Quick Facts:
Location: May vary day to day based on program needs but is based out of our Chikd & Career Development Center at 1525 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA 19320

Anticipated start date: At conclusion of hiring process (approx. May 2025 or for the start of the school year in August)
Schedule: Monday – Friday for 180 days per year. Our year runs from late August – early/mid-June following a typical school schedule which would be shared with the final candidate(s) at the time of hire. Summer work may be available for this position if interested. It is not required.
Work Hours: 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Typically either 7:30-3:30 or 8-4 depending on program needs.

• Maintain complete and accurate records and reports regarding number of students in attendance, pool resources and materials, and pool maintenance.
• Adhere to Department of Health regulations and requirements for the safe and healthy operation of a swimming pool.
• Maintain discipline and control of students in collaboration with the classroom teacher(s).
• Maintain equipment in a safe and clean manner.
• Inform the principal or building and grounds supervisor of any problems pertaining to health and safety.
• Follow CCIU Board policy and CCDC school procedures for student discipline. 
 
Salary Range (2024-2025 SY)
Support Band 10: $20.85/hr. - $26.06/hr. ($29,085.75/yr. - $36,353.70/yr.)
*Placement on salary band based on experience in a similar role*
Schedule: 
• Monday through Friday
• Hours as needed up to 7.5/day 
• 185 days per year (186 days during the first year)

At this time, the CCIU has one opening for an ESY Licensed Practical Nurse. The position is located within the Child & Career Development Center in Coatesville, PA.

Qualifications:
 
• Current LPN licensure required
• CPR/First Aid certification required
• Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)  
• Experience in a school setting with special needs students preferred
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
The LPN is responsible for implementing student health plans for students (including special education students and health plans identified in IEPs) and providing first aid and emergency care within standing order guidelines for accidental injuries and illness. The position will also be responsible for administering medications as prescribed by a doctor or requested by a parent.
 
Schedule:
June 30th -July 24th 
Monday - Thursday, 6.5 hours per day

Salary:
 
$23.00 - $28.75 per hour
