    Description

     

    This pool is for assignments for the 2024/2025 school year and for substitute positions. 

     


    The Alamosa School District accepts applications for Multiple Subject teachers on a continuous basis for regular full-time assignments.  

     


    The Elementary Teacher Pool is for individuals who hold an Elementary Education Endorsement credential or who are attaining an Elementary Education Endorsement credential through a teacher credentialing program and want to teach in a K through 6th grade environment

     


     

     

    Examples of Duties

     

    An Elementary Teacher develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program.  The duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:

     
    • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Board of Education and administrative regulations.

    • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.

    • Encourage pupils to think independently and to express original ideas.

    • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.

    • Assess student progress on objectives, expectations, and/or goals and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.

    • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment, including instructional media.
       

     

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    Credential Requirements

     
    • A valid Colorado teaching credential.

    • Candidates eligible for an Elementary Education Endorsement credential may be considered. Please reference the State of Colorado Licensing Office on Teacher Credentialing website for details at CDE Licensing.

    To be eligible for consideration, interested candidates must submit the following: 

     
    • On-line employment application through Frontline

    • Response to the supplemental questionnaire

    • Cover letter and resume

    • A copy of a valid teaching credential or proof of enrollment in a credentialing program (candidates must be scheduled to graduate within 6 months).

    • Contact information for three professional references must be listed under the 'References' section of the application.  References should be from a current or previous supervisor. References from a supervising teacher or professor are acceptable when there is no relevant prior work history. We will be reaching out to your professional reference contacts in the screening process of this application.

    • A copy of written reference letters within the last two years is desirable. 

     

    Required documents must be attached to the online employment application to be considered.  The supplemental questions should be answered thoroughly, clearly and concisely as the responses provided (along with the entire application package) will be carefully reviewed to determine which candidates will move forward in the recruitment process.  Please complete the online application to include all current and previous paid work history and education.  Indicate on the application if you have unpaid volunteer or internship experience.  The length of time you worked in each position or assignment must be clearly shown.  A resume must be attached, but it does not substitute for completing the work history and education sections of the employment application.
