Attendance Coordinator (Educational Technician III)

Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Yarmouth High School is seeking a full-time Attendance Coordinator who is enthusiastic and focused on developing strong, positive relationships with colleagues and students. This position is responsible for coordinating the attendance and truancy efforts at the High School and assisting the administration in general building supervision during the academic day.

REPORTS TO: YHS Principal and Assistant Principal
SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:
Authorization as an Ed Tech III or qualifications to earn Ed Tech III authorization
Excellent “people skills” in interacting with all school community members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Respect and empathy for colleagues and students to create positive, collaborative relationships
Problem solver who will collaborate and/or work independently to resolve challenging situations.
Proficient computer skills, including the use of the Google Suite and school-wide information systems (PowerSchool).
Excellent record keeping to track interventions and communications over time
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of school attendance and truancy plans with building administration.
Compile and evaluate data, prepare analysis, reports and recommendations regarding school attendance and truancy.
Work directly with students to foster positive attendance patterns.
Communicate with parents and staff on matters of student attendance and behavior, as necessary.
Supervise in-school suspension, including working with students to reflect on behaviors
Assist building administration in the supervision of the school building during the academic day including tasks such as monitoring school cameras and lunch duty
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Assistant Principal.
The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
