Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Clean criminal background.
• Three (3) positive professional references.
• Experience working with school aged children.
 
After Hire (Contingent)
• Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit with ESEA qualification ($55), or higher license.
• FBI & BCI Background checks dated within 12 months (Cost varies per agency).

Responsibilities
• Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of the teacher.
• Ensures that students are never left unattended in the classroom.
• Keeps students safe and engaged.
• Exhibits proper classroom management techniques.
• Understands building and classroom policy and procedures.
• Documents lesson plans.
• Maintains student records/performance.
• Follows the Individualized Education Program (IEP) of the student.

Details
• Starting ASAP, 5 days a week, 5.75 hours per day
• Hours: 7:15AM - 2:15PM (times could vary), flexible/willing to work with candidate
• Floating substitute: could be assigned to any building, will be assigned by supervisor in advance
• Half hour of unpaid break each day
• Enrollment in School Employees Retirement System (SERS)

3. Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
4. Gathers and empties trash.
5. Responsible for the health and safety of others.
6. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
7. Cleans windows, glass partitions, or mirrors.
8. Dusts furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
9. Works with floor polishers, ladders or industrial vacuums.
10. Includes exposure to contaminants.
11. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.

Lunch Responsibilities
• Assists students with lining up to receive their lunches.
• Supervises students outside on playground areas.
• Monitors/controls noise level within the cafeteria.
• Monitors/controls behavior of students during lunch services.
• Helps students open containers/packages that they may be unable to open themselves.
• Wipes down tables and monitors/helps students clean up their individual areas.
