SWIMMING INSTRUCTORS - HULBERT AQUATIC CENTER
POSITION: Swimming Instructors - Hulbert Aquatic Center
SUMMARY: The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing participants with a safe, effective and enjoyable lesson while responding to their needs as they relate to their participation in the aquatic program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Provide a safe, clean, comfortable, and enjoyable environment
- Follow the procedures of certifying agency, the Minn-Kota Chapter of the American Red Cross
- Knowledgeable of life guarding regulations established by the American Red Cross and the Hulbert Aquatic Center
- Knowledgeable of all pool equipment and ensure that they are working properly and report any problems to the Aquatic Supervisor
- Attend all meetings and training sessions
- Record chemical readings, water temperature, pool inspections, accident/ incident reports and participant statistics, etc.
- Keep full attention on participants in your class while you are instructing them.
- Lesson plans are required for each lesson in writing on the back of the attendance sheets.
- Ensure participants meet course completion requirements and issue course completion reports and certificates.
- Ability to adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Registered Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
- Ability to read, write and comprehend technical documentation and information
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings
- Ability to work with a variety of people
- Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to use computers and other forms of technology
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
- Understanding of confidentiality and commitment to abide by confidentiality regulations
SALARY: Beginning at $16.33/hour
