    HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
    REPORTS TO: Junior-Senior High School Administration
    PAY TYPE: Contract, Non-Supervisory
    PAY RATE: Based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract (see attachment)
    BENEFITS: Eligible (see attachment)
    SCHEDULE: 183 Days; Follows school calendar

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Plans, coordinates, and team-teaches the instruction program according to the adopted curriculum for a health & physical education classroom
    • WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certified or willingness to become certified
    • Demonstrates willingness and readiness to teach new diploma requirements such as Personal Career Connections (PCC), Personal Finance, and Work-Based Learning (WBL)

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
    • Education, Training, and Experience Required:
      • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
      • Valid Indiana Secondary Teacher’s License in Health & Physical Education (grades 7-12)
      • Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
      • Experience working in a school environment preferred
    • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
      • Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
      • Ability to work as a team with other staff
      • Displays dependability and punctuality
      • Preferred willingness to sponsor an extracurricular group/team

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Position works indoors in a typical school classroom environment
    • May work near others, often within a few feet
    • May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distracting
