    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Responsible for planning, directing, and leading an education-based athletics program that seeks to develop athletes of empathy and integrity.
    • Accept and implement the co-curricular philosophy of West Lafayette Jr. Sr. High
    • Follow the rules and regulations of the school, the Hoosier Conference, and the IHSAA.
    • Attend the rules interpretation meeting held by the IHSAA.
    • Maintain membership in the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association and participate so that our school has representation.
    • Attend clinics, seminars and in-service programs in order to improve coaching skills and to stay current with new trends in coaching, training, conditioning and safety procedures.
    • Attend school, conference, and sectional coaches meetings.
    • Give input about and then carry out the interscholastic schedule as drawn up by the Athletics Director.
    • Organize, schedule, and supervise practice sessions.
    • Submit and verify transportation requests for scrimmages, practices, and events.
    • Supervise the use of equipment in your sport.
    • Assist with the development of a written annual inventory and make recommendations for purchases to the Athletics Director.
    • Oversee the distribution and collection of equipment and supplies.
    • Regularly inspect equipment and facilities to ensure the safety of each student-athlete.
    • Develop fundraising strategies to help support programming needs and wants.
    • Responsible for reporting scores and disseminating team information for publicity.
    • Participate in pre and post-season meetings with the Athletics Director. The post-season meeting will serve as an evaluation conference.
    • Delegate responsibility to the assistant coaches as appropriate.
    • Organize and participate at an end of the season information and evaluation sessions with all assistant coaches.
    • Work to develop continuity between the community and school programs.
    • Provide leadership in his or her program for all levels (youth programs, junior high, JV, and Varsity) of the sport.
    • Only allows athletes certified by the Athletics Office to participate.
    • Maintain appropriate supervision of his/her program at all times (locker rooms, practices, events, bus rides, etc.). Supervises any and all space used by athletes while they are
    • Assure that the team at all times will reflect proper attitude and conduct at home or away.
    • Encourage young men and women to participate in sports and other co-curricular activities other than his/her own but does not attempt to influence the specific sport.
    • Establish and use a system of communication to athletes and parents that will include an explanation of program policies, awards, procedures, goals, and schedules.
    • Has responsibility for the end-of-season awards programs.
    • Represent the school in a professional manner in demeanor, language, and conduct (based on standards established by the Athletics Director).

    TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST
    REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
    PAY TYPE: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Classified, Non-Supervisory
    PAY RATE: Starting at $21 / hr.
    BENEFITS: Eligible for benefits (see attachment)
    SCHEDULE: 260 days; Full-time; 8 hrs. / day

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Assist in managing day-to-day operations in the technology department
    • Work with faculty, staff, and students to resolve technology-related issues (hardware, software, application, network connectivity)
    • Collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into classroom lessons and plans (both one-on-one and in groups)
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, then develop appropriate solutions
    • Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and analytical skills
    • Exhibit excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and basic laptop/computer hardware repair required
    • Basic understanding of Google management and Active Directory is a plus

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
    • Education, Training, and Experience Required:
      • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
      • Associates Degree or higher in IT and/or equivalent experience preferred
      • Experience in technology field preferred
    • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
      • Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
      • Ability to work as a team with other staff
      • Displays dependability and punctuality
      • Strong desire to assist others
      • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and stand on feet for long periods of time

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Position works indoors in a typical school environment which may include classrooms, computer labs, and administrative offices
    • May work near others, often within a few feet
    • Possible exposure to noise or disruptions in busy classroom environments
    • Often may require standing for extended periods of time
    • Frequent usage of computers, devices, and other technology equipment
    • Occasional lifting of equipment or devices (e.g., computers, projectors) weighing up to 30-40 lbs.
