POSITION: - Paraprofessional (Career Tech Programs)
- The Trumbull Career & Technical Center is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional / Educational Aide to support students in our career tech labs. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with students and has a passion for technical skills and shop environments. The successful candidate will assist students with tasks, ensure a safe and productive learning environment, and provide general support within CTE programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist students with coursework, labs, and hands-on learning activities in various technical fields.
- Assist the teacher and reinforce classroom instruction through individualized and small-group tutoring.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols, including proper use of equipment and tools. Assist in maintaining lab equipment, materials, and a safe learning environment.
- Aid in setting up and organizing tools, equipment, and materials needed for lab activities.
- Use educational technology and lab-related software to enhance learning.
- Assist with clerical duties, including data entry and report compilation.
QUALIFICATIONS: - High School diploma with Ohio Educational Aide permit or associate degree. Additional certifications in CTE areas (e.g., safety, mechanical fields) are a plus. High School paraprofessional experience preferred.
- Some mechanical ability and hands-on experience, especially in technical fields like automotive, construction, or manufacturing, is preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA or general shop safety procedures is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work well with students of diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to assist, motivate, and communicate with students effectively.
- Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions, as well as assist students in following technical guidelines.
- Proficiency with technology, including Google Workspace for Education.
SALARY: - Per the Paraprofessional 184-day Salary Schedule
