    COMPENSATION: $16.35 - $17.98
    HOURS: 20-25 Hours a Week, 6 Hrs a Day, Mon-Thurs (some Fridays)
    REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or Director of Special Services-
    Under the Immediate Supervision of the Classroom Teacher
    CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 Month

    FUNCTION

     

        The Inclusion Aide works as a paraprofessional with one or more multiple handicapped students, assisting the classroom teacher in leading each student toward fulfillment of his/her potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS          

     
    1. Previous experience in a care giving capacity.

    2. Familiarity with the needs of medically fragile persons.

    3. Course work and/or knowledge of basic education theory and methodology.

    4. Facility with deaf/blind interpretive techniques.

    5. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.

    6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

     

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

     
    1. Adapt/interpret regular classroom instruction and activities as prescribed in each student's Individualized Education Plan.

    2. Work as a "team player" with parents, teachers, therapists, and others in delivering an educational program appropriate to each child.

    3. Attend to students' personal care needs, i.e., diapering, feeding, transporting, etc. as necessary.

    4. Assist with reports, records, identification and acquisition of instructional materials.

    5. Participate in staff meetings; establish cooperative relationships.

    6. Evaluate student progress; recommend areas of program improvement.

    7. Perform other duties as directed.

     

    RELATED PHYSICAL DEMANDS

     
    1. Stooping, bending, lifting, etc., as necessary to maneuver, direct and/or gain the attention of a disabled child, or utilize any supportive equipment required in his or her care.

    2. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time as appropriate to an individualized program of instruction.

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

     

        Hourly wage, Working Agreement. Salary as determined by the Board of Education. 

     

        Evaluation in accordance with Board policy.
