POSITION:                        Refrigeration Technician

JOB GOAL:                      Under general supervision, performs skilled plumbing maintenance and repair work in the maintenance of District schools and other facilities. Performs related work as required.
 
JOB DUTIES:
 
1.  Performs a variety of skilled plumbing maintenance and repair tasks in the maintenance of District facilities, systems and equipment.
2. Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and/or replaces pumps, plumbing fixtures, water heaters, water valves, water fountains, faucets, PVC and copper water lines, drain field lines and septic tank irrigation systems, PVC and cast iron sewer lines, etc.
3. Maintains and repairs kitchen plumbing fixtures.
4. Clears clogged commodes, sewer lines and sinks.
5. Performs preventive maintenance functions as appropriate.
6. Anticipates and requests supplies, materials and equipment necessary for maintenance and repair tasks.
7. Cleans and maintains assigned vehicles, tools and equipment.
8. Maintains accurate and complete records of work completed and materials used.
9. Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly shop area.
10. Performs all duties in compliance with District and department policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety.
11. Receives and responds to concerns, complaints and inquiries in areas of responsibility.
12. Operates a vehicle, back hoe, trencher, tractor, and a variety of equipment such as cutting torch, soldering torch, various plumbing and other hand and power tools, etc.; uses hardware, spare parts and other maintenance supplies.
13. Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, coworkers, facility supervisors, District / school administrators and staff, vendors and service providers, contractors, and the general public.
14. Attends training, meetings, workshops, etc., as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills.
