    South St. Paul Schools is currently seeking individuals who are interested in being part of a substitute pool for preschool classes.

    Rate of Pay: $29.33/hour

    Job Summary 
    Provide a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate preschool experience for children. Guide children's behavior in a consistent and positive manner
     
    Job Functions

     
    • Plan, implement, evaluate and  coordinate curriculum and behvioral support with other staff.
    • Observe/monitor/assess/record each child's development/behavior for reporting and progrees monitoring
    • Develop and maintain rapport with each child  and provide postiive behavior guidance to all children plus provide for the health and safety of each child 
    • Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom-organized, safe and inclusive of learning centers
    • Use inclusive education methods and materials, plus develop and maintain resource materials.
    • Provide support, direction, supervision and assistance to the assistant
    • Set goals and plan strategies to promote learning through individual needs and interests of children and/or parents.
    • Respond approprately to emergency or crisis situations
    • Maintain appropriate records with the support of the assistant.
    • Maintain appropriate boundaries with families through interactions and use of technology.
    • Maintain communication with all staff and particpate as a team member.
    • Perform  other general duties as assigned by your supervisor to accomplish the objectives of the Early Learning Program
    • Promote a climate of mutual respect, trust, and responsibility.
    • Other duties as assigned.
     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Current Minnesota licensure in Early Education or K-12
    • Training or experience teaching in an early childhood program.
    • Ability to communicate and establish relationships with children, parents and staff members.
    • Ability to understand and follow data privacy rules and regulations related to students.
    • Commitment to working effectively with culturally, economically and socially diverse students and families
    • Flexibility and ability to function as a team member.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of child development, developmentally curriculum, lesson plan development, classroom implementation skills, behaior mangement skills, plus organizational skills. 
    • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills; approachable, positive and nonjudgmental with children, parents, community members and staff.
    • Ability to model and encourage appropriate behavior and interactions with children.
    • Ability to preform routine computer functions
     
    • Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance
     

     
    Physical Requirements
    Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Vision abilities required include close vision.
