Southern Oregon ESD is seeking a Field Service Technician with a limited energy license who is able to perform skilled electrical work in installation, repair, alteration, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment, as well as related duties. Duties include installation, repair, and maintenance of extended branch circuits, audio visual equipment, intercom systems, network cabling, security cameras, access control equipment, and other electrical and limited energy systems and equipment. The successful candidate would also ensure that electrical work performed at SOESD is in accordance with standard practices of the trade and in compliance with state and local regulations. A variety of shifts are available, and the position can be based out of either Jackson or Klamath County.

Field Service Technician III POSITION GOAL: Perform skilled duties in the design, maintenance, repair and installation of various school building low voltage systems. Assist with in-shop repairs of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.
Essential Duties:
1. Install, troubleshoot, test, and repair low-voltage systems (i.e LAN; PA, CCTV, CCATV, Intercom).
2. Skilled repair of low-voltage systems and equipment.
3. Consult with school district personnel regarding various low-voltage and media equipment needs during remodel and new construction.
4. Work cooperatively with other trades during remodel and construction.
5. Assist with the design, specification, and estimation of various types of low-voltage systems.
6. Assist with in-shop repairs of electronic equipment.
7. Assist with evaluating various new products and tools as they relate to the job.
8. Receive and complete work orders, including pricing, billing, and documentation information, as assigned by supervisor.
9. Attend training, workshops, in-services, and continuing education as requested by the department supervisor.
10. Be aware of the activities and responsibilities of other departments within the CET.
11. Ensure guidelines are followed for accountability of service, maintenance, and inventory for vehicles assigned to the department.
12. Assist in the training of other personnel in the department.
13. Perform job related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
14. Obtain necessary permits from local jurisdictions.
15. Perform physical requirements unaided or with reasonable accommodations.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with five (5) years or more of related work experience. Prefer related specialist training certificate, electronics, trade, or formalized schooling or equivalent on-the-job training.

6. Skilled use of test and repair equipment.
7. Ability to read building blueprints and electronic schematics.
8. Possess the following required licenses: Oregon Drivers, Oregon Limited Energy Limited Journeyman or equivalent.
9. Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
10. Working knowledge of building codes and standards as they relate to the job.
11. Minimum five years of trade experience.
12. Knowledge of safety procedures, guidelines, and rules.
LOCATION: In person at the SOESD Medford Office: 101 North Grape Street, Medford, OR 97501
LENGTH OF POSITION: 258 days (annual year-round position)
PAY: Per Classified Hourly Compensation Schedule, $22.19 - $30.41 starting hourly wage, (commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, relevant training and experience) for the 2024-2025 school year.
