GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the overall function of the Print Services Department. Duties include operation and maintenance of copier machines, routing printed materials to origin, accounting, and record-keeping for materials printed, and scheduled relief of Warehouse and Central Office personnel for cross-training. Works with customers to recommend various options regarding print jobs, such as paper, colors, inks, layout, graphics, etc. Uses a wide variety of software packages to produce graphic design and as well as needed to enhance printed matter. Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating all print shop machinery.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED certificate.
One-year related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The capacity to learn or be knowledgeable of operation and maintenance of copier machine.
Knowledge of accounting procedures for receipt and dissemination of printed matter.
Experience using print ordering software, Microsoft office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Canon PRISMA, Fiery, and other digital print management solutions
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Plans and prioritizes workload schedules, provides support with design and layout, and prints documents in order to provide printing service to customers.
2. Operates copier machines.
3. Performs or schedules maintenance for copier machines.
4. Prepares printed matter for dissemination to schools and Central Office.
5. Stores and orders supply and equipment related to printing operation.
6. Accounts for charges to schools and others for printed matter and submits charges to Business Office.
7. Operates and maintains bindery equipment, guillotine paper cutter, perfect binder, booklet maker, drill punch press, and business card cutter.
8. Relieves Central Office and Warehouse personnel for cross-training or absences.
9. Strives to keep abreast of new print and graphic equipment developments.
10. Schedules and monitors print job status to ensure production is correct and on time, if not must be able to communicate with the customer.
11. Budgets time efficiently and provides accurate time-use documentation.
12. Allocates resources of the print shop equitably and responsibly.
13. Produces Playbills (for Theater productions), theater play advertisements, signs, posters, programs, event materials using the print shop devices.
14. Addresses the needs of each school or department ordering forms, copying, printing, and bindery services.
15. Maintains a system log to develop cost analysis of monthly printing orders, paper costs, and supplies.
16. Uses a wide variety of software packages to produce graphic designs and applies graphics as needed to enhance printed matter.
17. Adheres to the Professional Code of Ethics found in the Board Policy Manual.
18. Scans photos and hard copy documents, then manipulates to improve text and photo quality.
19. Works to assure that Print Services billing is accurate, and services are billed at rates lower than outside vendors, while being able to cover operational expenses.
20. Maintains a neat, clean and organized work area.
21. Is open, friendly and positive with parents, students, and colleagues.
22. Assumes other duties assigned by supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands:
Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations; ability to operate copier machines. While performing these duties, the employee is required to demonstrate an above average degree of concentration, communication (verbal and written), interpretative skills (i.e. policy, data), understanding verbal instructions, analyzing, reading, memorizing, coordinating, compiling, computing, instructing, and emotional control.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching; heavy lifting and carrying.
