St. Charles Schools is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Grade 7 & 8 Science Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year beginning August 25, 2025. Applicants should currently hold the required Minnesota teaching license. Salary range (51,249 - 80,273 pending negotiations) based on the Master Agreement. This position is eligible for health, dental, and group term life insurance along with matching 403b and PTO. Co-curricular positions are also available. Job Summary:
As a Licensed Teacher, you will be responsible for developing lesson plans and delivering instruction to students in assigned instructional subjects/grade levels. You would also be responsible for assessing student progress, as well as, collaborating with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel regarding student needs, issues and district learning initiatives, curriculum and building issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver classroom instruction to students in a manner consistent with the district's approved curriculum and learning objectives.
- Assess student progress towards standards and learning targets in order to determine the need for interventions or extensions to instructional plans/techniques/goals.
- Use a variety of teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to best meet the needs of students and district learning outcomes.
- Employ appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning.
- Establish and maintain student control and discipline in the classroom, school premises or during school activities by communicating expectations of appropriate behavior.
- Collaborate with other educational professionals and administrators to assess student progress and performance, develop curriculum, and participate in building decision-making.
- Provide professional expertise and assistance to individuals, other district staff and the community concerning areas of instructional expertise/knowledge.
- Attend training sessions, conferences, IEP meetings, seminars, district and departmental meetings to keep up-to-date on changing developments, trends, instructional and educational technologies.
Qualifications: - Knowledge of teaching principles, practices, techniques and approaches.
- Knowledge of child development theories and development stages and needs.
- Knowledge of current trends, theories and technologies pertaining to learning and instruction.
- Knowledge of assessment development, procedures and techniques
- Knowledge of subject material, concepts and issues related to grade/subject of assignment.
- Basic understanding of the Google Suite and JMC would be beneficial, but not required

- Skilled in planning and developing curriculum & lesson plans consistent with approved program curriculum.
- Skilled in presenting complex materials and concepts in an understandable and grade-appropriate manner.
- Skilled in developing assessment tools and evaluating student performance and needs.
- Skilled in leading group processes/discussions, utilizing a variety of instruction aids and technologies.
- Ability to write reports, lesson plans, learning targets, assessments, and assist in writing and reviewing curriculum using and applying professional/technical concepts, principles, and terminology.
- Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with parents, students, staff, and other educational professionals.
