TITLE: BUS DRIVER
 
JOB GOAL:
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the District’s curriculum and extra-curricular programs.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:   
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Must have current/obtain Fingerprint Clearance Card.
3. Must have a Valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. 
   REPORTS TO:  DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION
   
   PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Obeys all traffic laws.
2. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school busses.
3. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
4. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
5. Keeps assigned bus clean.
6. Keeps to assigned schedule.
7. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
8. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
9. Discharges students only at authorized stops.
10. Exercises responsible leadership when on out of district school trips.
11. Transports only authorized students.
12. Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
13. Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
14. Reports unprofessional conduct of staff that may be assigned to ride bus.
15. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director 
    
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Twelve (12) Month
     
    SALARY:  Hourly
     
    EVALUATION:  Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Personnel.

Title: PARENT EDUCATOR

Minimum Qualification:
1. Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, social work or a related field required.
Commitment to supporting at-risk families. Cultural and linguistic competency appropriate to service area.

Job Goals:
The Parent Educator will work in collaboration with District Parent Educator to engage families, staff education,
community partners to ensure that the program meets the needs of the whole child and supports parents/guardians in
addressing family needs and setting and achieving ambitious family goals.

Key Activities:
• Collaborate with teachers and instructional leaders to engage parents in the classroom and school/site,
including meaningful volunteer opportunities. Ensure that the programs maintain a welcoming environment for
parents.
• Lead development and implementation of parent education opportunities, leveraging, internal recourses and
community partners. Solicit parent input on parent education offerings.
• Implement and support activities to ensure a strong connection between home and school. Including takehome learning activities.
• Engage parents in parent advisory committee and other leadership opportunities.

Eligibility and Recruitment
• Support program efforts to identify and recruit the most at-risk children in the community.
• Educate parents about the importance of early learning programs and support parents in completing the
enrollment process.
• Identify and develop potential partnerships with community entities with access to priority population.

Attendance:
• Review attendance on a regular basis to identify patterns of absenteeism.
• Determine supports needed to support regular attendance and connect parents to resources as appropriate.
Educate parents about benefits and importance of regular attendance.

Comprehensive Services: • Coordinate parent meetings and workshops to educate parents in the area of child health, mental health and development. • Assist parents in establishing a “medical home” and “dental home” for their children to ensure access to consistent health care. • Coordinate transition program to Kindergarten • Collaborate with mental health consultant to facilitate evaluation of children with parent consent and referrals to mental health resources as needed. • Coordinate and conduct home visits as needed to support home-school connection, address attendance concerns and provide other family supports. • Provide supports to children with special needs, including empowering parents as advocates for their children. Connection to Resources: • Assess family needs and identify parent/guardian goals for family. Work with families to develop a plan towards meeting needs and achieving goals. • Refer families to resources to support referrals on a regular basis.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) month SALARY: Placed on appropriate Salary Schedule according to experience and/or education.

TITLE: COUNSELOR
OPEN: 03/14/2024 – Until filled
 
PURPOSE:
Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, school counselors promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
1. MAJOR FUNCTION: DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM
1.1 Discusses the comprehensive school counseling program with the school administrator.
1.2 Develops and maintains a written plan for effective delivery of the school counseling program
1.3 Communicates the goals of the comprehensive school counseling program to education stakeholders (i.e., administrators, teachers, students, parents, and community/business leaders).
1.4 Maintains current and appropriate resources for education stakeholders.
1.5 Uses the majority of time providing direct services through the Guidance Curriculum, Individual Student Planning and Preventive and Responsive Services, and most remaining time in program management, system support, and accountability
1.6 Uses data to develop comprehensive programs that meet student needs.
 
2 MAJOR FUNCTION: DELIVERY OF A COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM
Guidance Curriculum
2.1 Provides leadership and collaborates with other educators in the school
2.2 Implements developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet student needs and school goals.
2.3 Incorporates into their programs the life skills that students need to be successful in the twenty-first century.
 
Individual Student Planning
2.4 Assists all students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career and personal/social skills, goals, and plans.
2.5 Accurately and appropriately interprets and utilizes student data.
2.6 Collaborates with parents/guardians and educators to assist students with educational, career, and life planning.
 
Preventive and Responsive Services
2.7 Provides individual and group counseling to students with identified concerns and needs.
2.8 Consults and collaborates effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and other educational/community resources regarding students with identified concerns and needs.
2.9 Implements an effective referral and follow-up process as needed.
2.10 Accurately and appropriately uses assessment procedures for determining and structuring individual and group counseling services.
 
System Support
2.11 Provides appropriate information to school personnel related to the comprehensive school counseling program.
2.12 Assists teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders in interpreting and understanding student data.
2.13 Participates in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills.
2.14 Uses available technology resources to enhance the school counseling program.
2.15 Adheres to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the school counseling profession.
 
3. MAJOR FUNCTION: ACCOUNTABILITY
 
3.1 Conducts a yearly program audit to review extent of program implementation and effectiveness.
3.2 Collects and analyzes data to guide program direction and emphasis.
3.3 Measures results of the comprehensive school counseling program activities and shares results as appropriate with relevant stakeholders.
3.4 Monitors student academic performance, behavior, and attendance and facilitates appropriate interventions.

4. QUALIFICATIONS
 
4.1 Must have current Fingerprint Clearance Card
4.2 BA or BS Degree
4.3 Valid Arizona Certification
4.4 Must have a valid driver's license
