    $15/hour; Tuesday & Thursday nights, 6-7p, May - beginning of July

    Eligible for benefits which include free individual fitness center pass, free individual pool pass, 25% off programs - certain restrictions apply.


    SUMMARY

    Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the Youth Athletics Instructor must be able to instruct 4-year-olds in the fundamental skills and rules of baseball/T-Ball. Excellent manner and communicative skills are required.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

     
    • Provide friendly customer service and a welcoming environment to each player/parent
    • Must be able to interact well with participants and their guardians/parents.
    • Ability to communicate including sighted and auditory comprehension and verbal and writing ability.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:
     
    • Teach the players the basics of Baseball/T-Ball. Throwing, how to use a bat safely, how to hit the ball, run the bases and play different positions.
    • Games and drills must be conducted with an emphasis on safety first and fun second.
    • Parents should be notified if their child is a disruptive force during class and action taken.
    • Enthusiastic, motivated and dependable, with the ability to relate to children & adults
    • Instructors must be able to successfully implement and maintain order during a wide range of drills and games.
    • Complete Roselle Park District Accident Report Form as needed for submission to Recreation Supervisor.
    • Maintain attendance log for each session.
    • Class needs to be started and completed per time allocated. Necessary equipment should be set-up and available prior to start of class and returned to storage area post-class.
    • Supervisor will be notified if new equipment needs to be ordered for program.
    • Program facility must be clean and neat upon completion of each class.
    • Roselle Park District Program Evaluations forms are to be distributed, collected, and returned to Supervisor following last class of program session.
