Position: K-8th Gifted & Talented/Intervention Teacher
School Year: 2025-2026
Reports to: Dean of Instruction and Building Leadership Team
Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated K-8 Gifted & Talented and Intervention Teacher who will play a vital role in supporting both our advanced learners and students in need of intervention. This unique position requires a dynamic educator who can elevate rigor, foster academic growth, and provide tailored support to students across the achievement spectrum.
Key Responsibilities
Gifted & Talented Responsibilities (Approx. 50%)
- Develop and implement Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs) for identified students.
- Regularly meet with teachers, students, and parents to ensure ALPs align with student needs and goals.
- Collaborate with teachers to create actionable steps that challenge and support gifted and talented (GT) students while ensuring continuous academic growth.
- Provide advanced and accelerated instruction for small groups of GT and talent pool students.
- Utilize the Depth and Complexity framework to design enriched and challenging learning experiences.
- Organize and oversee extension activities such as Destination Imagination teams, academic competitions, or enrichment projects.
- Administer yearly cognitive assessments to identify students for the GT program.
- Advocate for GT students by ensuring access to differentiated instruction, appropriate resources, and enrichment opportunities.
Intervention Responsibilities (Approx. 50%)

Work with the intervention team to provide targeted reading and/or math intervention support for students in grades K-8 who require additional academic assistance.

Work closely with classroom teachers to provide push-in support or small-group pull-out sessions.

Use data to identify student needs, develop intervention strategies, and track progress.

Implement Orton Gillingham research-based strategies and best practices for supporting struggling learners.

Maintain thorough records of student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid teaching license with an endorsement in Gifted & Talented Education preferred.
- Experience working with both high-performing students and students needing intervention.
- Knowledge of differentiation, enrichment, and intervention strategies.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized plans for academic growth.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with teachers, students, and families.
- Strong organizational skills to balance both GT and intervention responsibilities effectively.

Work Requirements and Characteristics:
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
License/Certification: Colorado Teacher License or the ability to obtain
Terms of Employment: Twelve-month position. Competitive salary ranging from $57,165-$82,277
2024-2025 Salary Schedule (2025-2026 salary schedule will be updated this spring)
Evaluation: Job performance is evaluated annually by the Building Leadership Team
FLSA Status: Exempt
Working Environment/Physical Activities: Work is generally performed in a classroom environment. Travel with students may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or grasp objects; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, balance or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision, depth perception, color, and the ability to adjust focus.
