    Part TIme - Hourly Position - No Benefits

    Job Summary:  
    Under the direct supervision of the School Cafeteria Manager, assists in the preparation and serving of foods, cleaning of the kitchen, utensils and equipment and other related work as required.

    Qualifications:
    1. High School Diploma or GED
    2. Ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily
    3. Reasonable accommodations may be made on request to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    4. Pleasant and professional manner
    5. Ability to work well with peers and children
    6. Must be able to pass a security background check
    7. Must maintain a minimum of 4(<20 hours a week) or 6(20 or more hours a week) hours of annual continuing education in accordance to the USDA Professional Standards
     
    Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
    1.  Participates in the preparation, cooking and serving of food
    2. Complies with all local, state and federal health guidelines regarding school food service
    3. Adheres to all U.S.D.A. guidelines established for the Child Nutrition Program and QACPS policies and procedures
    4. Assures that standardized recipes, portion controls and procedures for use of leftovers are followed Maintains food quality standards (temperature, appearance and taste) from point of preparation through point of service
    5.  Assists in the daily cleanup of the kitchen and service areas ensuring compliance will all applicable rules and regulations.
    6.  Stocks inventory and assists with inventory activities.
    7.  Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours
    8. Performs major cleaning of refrigerators, freezer, and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals
    9. Attends In-Service meetings
    10. May be assigned to another school if needed
    11. Performs other duties as assigned.
     Demonstrated Knowledge and Abilities:
    1. Basic food-handling skills.
    2.  Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
    3.  Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
    4. Ability to accept changes in responsibility and incorporate new goals
    5. Ability to follow verbal directions
    6. Satisfactory score on any test required

    Physical Requirements:
    1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    2. Stand for extended periods of time 
    3. Reach overhead and above shoulders to retrieve various items 
    4. Use proper lifting, and pushing and pulling techniques
    5. Sufficient manual dexterity to use knife and required kitchen equipment
    6. Ability to work in temperature extremes
     Pay and Hours:
    $16 p/h not to exceed 4.5 hours per day. Hours will be determined by the Operations Manager
