Summer Curriculum Writing: Career Exploration
Full 2 semester course at Proviso East and Proviso West High Schools
Research & Theoretical Studies Department – Part of CTE Pathways in
Business, FCS, Applied Technology, & Engineering/Technology
Goals:
- To ensure that all students have access to and engagement with high quality, equitable, and relevant instruction
- To improve student achievement by developing a guaranteed and viable curriculum that is aligned with district priority learning standards and college and career readiness skills
- To provide teachers with the opportunity to collaborate on written curriculum that aligns with the district’s instructional framework. Written curriculum will include a curriculum map, scope and sequence, and unit plans with a maximum unit length of 4 weeks. GRR phases are included.

Description | Writers adhere to the given design criteria to develop a curriculum map, scope and sequence, and unit plans with a maximum unit length of 4 weeks. GRR phases are included as well as formative and summative assessments for use by all teachers of a particular course across the district. |
Qualifications | Valid IL Professional Educator License (PEL) in content area/department of the course Knowledge and experience in effective curriculum writing Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Schoology Attention to detail Flexibility and responsiveness to feedback Ability to self-monitor for accuracy and completion |
