QualificationPRIMARY FUNCTION: To transport students safely, efficiently and economically to and from school on a daily basis and to extracurricular events on a non-regular basis.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Transportation. Each driver shall be directly responsible to the principals of the schools he/she serves on matters related to student discipline and patron relations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalency.
2. Submit at least two references attesting to the applicant's ability, character and personal qualifications.
3. Meet school bus driver certification requirements:
a. minimum hours of instruction
b. satisfactorily pass knowledge examination.
4. Meet State requirements for appropriate licensing.
5. Meet State physical examination requirements.
6. Meet local or State standards for driving test.
7. Meet local or State standards for driver record check.
8. Must have successfully completed the National Red Cross First Aid Course.
9. Ability to operate all vehicle types used in transporting students.
10. Ability to operate radio communication when necessary.
*All Substitutes must be 21 years of age
Qualification Details
A: Has all of the following skill(s): - Air Brake Endorsement
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) "B"
- Passenger Endorsement
B: Has one of the following degree(s) or above: - G.E.D
- High School Diploma
