Join the Spartan Kids Team as a School Age Child Care Assistant and make a difference in the lives of children while gaining valuable experience in the field of education. As part of our team, you will collaborate with the Lead Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging environment for school-age children. Your responsibilities will include communicating with the Lead Teacher, setting up supplies and projects, assisting with field trips, fostering a warm atmosphere for students and families, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and providing daily support to the Lead Teacher. This dynamic role offers the chance to apply your education knowledge and skills in a practical setting while making a positive impact on young learners. School year positions also available.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to understand daily tasks and priorities, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Set up and take down supplies and project materials daily, contributing to an interactive and stimulating learning environment.
Assist with organizing and supervising Friday field trips, providing enriching experiences for students outside the classroom.
Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and families, building positive relationships and a sense of community.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the learning environment, ensuring the well-being of all participants.
Provide daily support to the Lead Teacher, assisting with classroom activities and student supervision as needed.
Qualifications:
Fun, nurturing, and caring personality, with a genuine passion for working with children.
Highly organized and flexible, able to adapt to diverse tasks and responsibilities.
Experience in child care is appreciated, demonstrating an understanding of the needs and interests of school-age children.
First-aid and CPR certification are appreciated, highlighting a commitment to safety and well-being.
One to two years of college experience in a related field, especially education, is preferred, showcasing your academic background and interest in the field.
Previous work experience with school-age children (ages 5-12) is desirable, demonstrating practical skills and knowledge.
Experience preparing and serving snacks is advantageous, contributing to the nutritional needs of students.
Knowledge of the developmental needs of school-age children, facilitating effective engagement and support.
Effective communication skills, able to collaborate with colleagues and interact positively with students and families.
Punctual and reliable, able to begin work shifts on time and fulfill scheduled hours.
